Meet Caleb Paull

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Paull.

Hi Caleb, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a small MA town, in a blue-collar home. As a homeschooled family, my siblings and I went to work with my Dad from an early age. At the moment, I didn’t see the value in it or appreciate it. But, looking back on it, despite the many challenges of divorced parents- they did teach us how to work, and I am better for it. I began working a job as soon as it was legal, and from there, learned a deeper level of responsibility, punctuality, communication, and customer service. My first official job was the somewhat stereotypical “Subway sandwich artist”. Silly as it seems now, I loved that job, and my responsibilities as Shift Lead.

Throughout high school, I worked a couple of jobs at once, including two restaurants, and a local garbage disposal company as a trashman. I loved the energy, fast pace, and customer service aspect of my job, and thought that the ultimate level of success was managing such a company. Throughout this time, I formed a relationship with a gentleman named Adam, who became a mentor to me. I always tell people; he saw the potential in me that I did not see within myself. With the way I was raised, I knew how to work hard, and “perform” at a high level, but didn’t see or understand my full potential. It took someone else seeing it, speaking it over me, and continually challenging me to “think bigger”. Adam encouraged me to consider sales, as I had the ambition, passion, and work ethic to succeed.

Although I had limited belief and mindset toward myself, I set out on the mission to find my first sales job. I applied to roughly 100 sales jobs before I got ONE offer (which of course, I accepted). This was when I laid my foundation for sales & business development. Through continued coaching from Adam, and other leaders in my life, I began growing in my love for people, sales, and excellence in my work. Fast forward to 2020 when I “graduated” to a higher-level sales gig here in Orlando, FL, selling commercial office furniture. 12 months in, I moved into Account Management/Outside Sales which gave me the opportunity to focus on building deep-seated, long-term relationships, which was my biggest passion.

After experiencing success over 3 years in commercial office furniture, I knew I had untapped potential in the level of relationships and business. So that brings me to where I am today, working in the office side of Commercial Real Estate, which came about through a relationship formed at my second home, The Citrus Club.

I had the pleasure of meeting and forming a referral partnership with Jeff Patterson in 2021, as our industries crossed paths through his sale & leasing of office space, and my space planning & furnishing of corporate office environments. Now, together we support businesses through buy, sell, & lease scenarios for office space in Central FL. On the side, I enjoy serving on the Membership Council, & Young Executive Board of the Citrus Club, as President of Citrus Toastmasters, and as Assistant Coach for AAU Club Volleyball with Celebration Community Athletics. And the story is still being written…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing good in life comes easy, but I believe that each chapter of my life is an important part of my story. My prayer is that someone would be edified and elevated by my story. My first defining moment in life was rolling my car 4 times, walking away with a fractured sternum, TBI, two fractured vertebrae, and a pulmonary contusion. After months in a neck brace, and many difficult months to follow, I got back on my feet. Fast forward a few years, I moved to Orlando having only known 1 person, Adam, in January of 2020.

We all know what happened around the March timeframe of that year. Covid completely redefined how people worked, communicated, and socialized. That wasn’t an easy reality for a guy who just moved here and only knew one person. So, I did what I could do; show up every day to the office, and work the system. I made calls, emailed, connected with anyone I could online, and learned about the furniture business.

In the evenings after work, I would sit and learn from Adam, on how to refine my skillsets and be a more effective salesperson and leader. He taught me the importance of emotional intelligence, body language, and tonality, 3 things I was not taught growing up. As a Northerner, my approach to sales and working with a team was aggressive, fast, and demeaning. Although I didn’t mean it that way, it came across negatively to others.

It took many reminders from my mentor, and difficult conversations. But I sit here, humbled at the grace of God and mentors like Adam who believed in me and stuck with me. Over the years here, I grew in my understanding and passion for healthy communication through my work, and avenues like Toastmasters International, which I still do today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work in the Commercial Real Estate world, specializing in Class A Office Leasing & Sales in Greater Orlando. I have the privilege of representing Landlords and Tenants for all things office. My background in Commercial Office Furniture gives me a unique perspective on the inner workings of office space, and how to create efficient workspaces. The ability to visualize what could become of a space is invaluable.

I take a professional, insightful, and inspirational approach to Real Estate and the way I build relationships. At the end of the day, things fade away and lose their value. But memories, people, experiences, and souls do not lose value. As Maya Angelou once said; “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I have made it my mission in life and in business to be the best friend, supporter, communicator, and connector I can be.

In hopes that people will feel inspired, empowered, and compelled toward positive changes in their own lives. I truly believe that one small act, done with pure motives can positively influence the outcome of someone’s life. So, with that, I “advocate” and “promote” a life of intentional, purposeful, and thoughtfulness with the prayer that business communities, family communities, and even church communities would be enriched and enhanced.

What does success mean to you?
I guess I already hit on it in the last segment. My definition of success is other human beings’ lives being positively influenced and enriched as a result of knowing me, and more importantly, knowing God.

My love for people pales in comparison to the Love God has for Mankind (Agape love). Success to me is that through my conversations, interactions, and relationships, people would actively move forward and experience growth in mindset, attitude, and behavior.

My core values are Integrity, Honor, Empathy, Influence, and Authenticity.
