Today we’d like to introduce you to Can We Talk Music.
We are four black music lovers who come from different walks of life. Each individual of Can We Talk Music brings their own flair to the mix. Ben has spent time in Los Angeles writing RnB and pop music. Brian has dabbled in the rap world. Stephanie is often being praised for her musical ear and pushed towards finding a lane as an A&R. Da’karee can debate with the best of them with his passion and strong musical knowledge. Together, we wanted to create a platform to not only give us a space to express our views in music entertainment but also provide space for local artists to showcase their personalities and talents.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Fortunately, we have not run into too many obstacles or challenges. We have been blessed to have a strong support system that not only comes with support but resources. Our one true hurdle was finding locations for both our podcast recordings and space for events. However, even that has been taken care of as again, our great support system comes through!

Can We Talk Music is a platform. The reason we don’t refer to it as a podcast is because we are so much more than that. Yes, podcasting is an avenue that sets the foundation for us, but we also handle artist interviews, games, events, debates. We’ve even put together an RnB competition, called The Sixteen, for our dope local artists in the city, with season two on the way!
We love music and love our city, so we wanted to work towards building something that is not only enjoyable to create but helpful for our artists who want even more of an outlet to show that Orlando is more than just theme park but also a musical hotbed to be praised!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
We’ve all come from different upbringings, but each one of us always grew with the passion for music. While we each had different paths, whether it was as an artist, an instrumentalist or just a music savant, some form of music has always been a major part and even therapy of sorts to us. We can go further into detail, but we actually have videos on our YouTube where we are each individually explaining our upbringing and how we got to Can We Talk Music! (You should tune in!)
