Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolina Oliveira de Andrade.
Hi Carolina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My life change process began after I was kidnapped in 2014 and decided to completely change my lifestyle, take a break from my career as a lawyer, leave my family and friends in my country, and move to another country searching safety.
What I didn’t know when I made this choice is that I’d dive into a deep process of self-knowledge and my own personal experience in recent years has shown me how it is possible to transform ourselves as a whole, even facing difficult moments during this process.
I started the process of redefining my lifestyle, adopting a healthier lifestyle through the practice of a healthier diet, the insertion of physical activity as a routine in my life and the practice of self-care through meditation. As the changes were happening, I posted on my social media and friends and family started asking me what I was doing because they wanted to do it in their lives too.
During my career as a lawyer in Brazil, I wrote books in my field, so I decided to write my first self-help book with the aim of showing people that they are capable of going through this process of resignification as well.
So I published the book Together We are Stronger and my specific social media was born for that. Gradually I improved the posts and after a while I realized that people were interested in knowing more about tips on how to eat healthier, how to implement a physical activity routine and how to take better care of yourself. So I ended up making the choice to share my routine on these topics.
I know that taking care of our mental health should be a daily priority, not just something we reach for when we get into a crisis. I believe this project is perfect not just for those who feel overwhelmed, but for anyone interested in bringing more self-care, positivity and a healthier lifestyle into their life.
We are together in this current of practice of the pillars of the project in our daily routine because like you, I also seek to implement this care in my daily life and I feel that together we can do it in a more effectively through the support network.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. Ups and downs in this journey are frequently. And you learn with this and start to build confidence to keeping moving forward without given up!
As you know, we’re big fans of Together We are Stronger and Juntos Somos Mais Fortes. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The purpose of the Journey is to train ourselves together, in a support network, to make our mental health a priority, through the process of self-knowledge + self-care.
At TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER, I seek to bring a mechanism to support mental health and well-being, promote daily positivity, encourage self-care and practice gratitude and Faith.
In short, I want everything I do and show you to bring support, joy and motivation to your everyday life.
Self-knowledge is a process that you can practice in your daily life by creating planning so that you can apply these pillars:
Healthy Eating + Physical Activity + Art Therapy & Faith.
At Healthy Eating Pillar I offer mentoring groups to help people to start practice a better way to eat healthy.
At Physical Activity Pillar, I offer Zumba Classes (online and in person).
At Art therapy Pillar I offer Mandalas Painting workshops and a Coloring book called Meditating with Mandalas – Feelings Series to help people to decompress through meditation.
Any big plans?
Just keep moving forward with the project and launch more books in this field.
