Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Brown.
Hi Catherine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I have always loved the spa/salon/beauty industry. I previously worked as a salon manager always behind the desk dying to be in the treatment rooms. I put off my studies for esthetics, to raise my family & travel with my military husband around the US. Once Covid hit, I decided it’s time (why not, right?) But instead of esthetics, I really yearned to learn more about permanent makeup. I love art, tattoos, and creating art on skin. So, I went for as many courses as I could get under my belt online, then flew out to a mentor for hands-on training.
After training & trying to find a studio to work, doors just kept closing on me. I couldn’t find a studio to rent a room or a studio to employ me for that matter.
Then I randomly came across the building I currently occupy & it just all fell into place.
My studio is a space for women starting out or even seasoned artists to have a place to work, and feel supported, with positive energy.
I am the only open floor plan, permanent makeup studio for artists to come work and collab together in Vero Beach.
The studio is full of plants & calm, feel-good vibes. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not smooth haha! Almost giving up quite a few times. Being an entrepreneur is a lonely road. Then add competitive beauty into it.
Not a whole lot of community over competition.
I also had issues with many real estate agents- not even getting back to me inquiring about space rental. Then you always have some people who just doubt your capabilities from the beginning and let you know how they feel.
Mental, emotional & financial stressors sure can knock you down and possibly out of the game altogether, but my advice to anyone starting, just keep moving forward…. Even if it’s just one tiny baby step. They count!!!

I am a licensed tattoo artist for the state of Florida, and 2X certified permanent makeup artist.
I love helping women and men feel their best by enhancing their natural features like eyebrows, or lips.
My specialties include ombré/powder brow & lip neutralizations/lip blushing.
I am always doodling and making small tattoos also. My passion is learning more and more about this industry & all the different services I can provide.
What sets me apart from others I believe is my connection with my clients. I love getting to know each and everyone, making them feel so very special (because they are) & giving them the space to relax, feel safe, & know they are in the best hands.
