Meet Christine Marte of Up in a Cloud Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Marte.

Hi Christine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2010, and my career started in chiropractic offices, where I gained a strong foundation in therapeutic and corrective bodywork. Over time, I worked my way up into a lead position and spent about six years , building experience, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how massage can truly help people feel better.

Eventually, I decided to try something new. That led me into spa work, where I was able to grow in a different way and focus more on creating a relaxing, restorative experience for clients. Working in both chiropractic and spa settings gave me a well-rounded background, blending therapeutic care with relaxation.

After years of working for other businesses, I felt ready to create something of my own. That’s how Up in a Cloud Massage was born. I wanted to bring a professional, peaceful spa experience directly to clients, whether they are at home, visiting Orlando, celebrating a special occasion, or simply needing time to reset.

Starting my business has been a journey of growth, faith, and stepping outside of my comfort zone. As a mother and business owner, I’ve had to balance a lot, but every client, event, and opportunity has helped me keep moving forward. Today, I’m proud to offer mobile massage services in the Orlando area and create experiences that feel personal, calming, and uplifting. My goal is for every client to feel like they can escape to cloud nine, even if just for an hour.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to step out on my own after working for other businesses for so many years. I was used to having structure, coworkers, and a steady routine, so starting my own business pushed me outside of my comfort zone in a lot of ways.
Another challenge has been learning the business side of things. Being a good massage therapist is one part of it, but running a business means learning marketing, social media, booking systems, pricing, client communication, boundaries, events, and how to stay consistent even when things feel overwhelming.
As a mobile massage therapist, there are also challenges with traveling, setting up, carrying equipment, and making sure every client still receives a professional and relaxing experience no matter where I am. It takes a lot of planning and energy behind the scenes.
But every challenge has helped me grow. I’ve learned to trust myself more, take things one step at a time, and keep going even when I feel nervous or unsure. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I know every obstacle is helping me become a stronger business owner.

As you know, we’re big fans of Up in a Cloud Massage . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Up in a Cloud Massage is a mobile massage business serving the Orlando and Kissimmee area. I bring a professional, relaxing spa experience directly to clients, whether they are at home, on vacation, staying at an Airbnb or hotel, or celebrating a special event.
I offer customized massage services including relaxation, deep tissue, prenatal, lymphatic, and therapeutic bodywork. I also offer spa party experiences, chair massage for events, and add-ons like hot stones, cupping, gua sha, scalp treatments, and hand or foot scrubs.
What sets my business apart is that I combine professionalism with a peaceful, personal experience. My background in chiropractic offices and spa settings allows me to understand both the therapeutic and relaxation sides of massage. I want every client to feel comfortable, cared for, and like the experience was created just for them.
I’m most proud of the brand I’m building because it reflects peace, softness, healing, and escape. The name Up in a Cloud Massage represents that feeling of being able to pause, breathe, and escape to cloud nine, even if it’s only for an hour. My goal is for clients to know that this is more than just a massage. It’s a calming experience brought directly to them with care, intention, and professionalism.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Orlando is the diversity and the sense of opportunity. There are so many different cultures, families, travelers, small businesses, and events happening here. As a mobile massage therapist, I love that I get to meet people from all different backgrounds, whether they live here or are visiting on vacation.
I also love that this city gives small business owners room to grow. There are so many communities, markets, hotels, Airbnbs, and local events where people can connect and support each other.
What I like least is probably the traffic and how spread out everything can be. Since I offer mobile services, traveling from one area to another can sometimes be challenging, especially during busy times. But overall, I feel grateful to be building my business in a city with so much movement, growth, and opportunity.
