Meet Claudia Lago

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Lago.

Hi Claudia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, we are three, my cousin Barby, one of my best friends Diana and I. It was just us having the same conversation for years!!! At the end of each party or get-together, we would have; we’ll end up with that atomic question; “hasta cuando???” (Until when) are we gonna be working 6 days a week from 8 am to 5 pm??? Years past, we had some money saved and that question came again haha. But this time I said, ok investing in real state is not a bad idea. I have 3 kids, we go to Orlando every year, to visit the parks, and relax with the whole family. Imagine, we are Cuban, our families are huge hahaha. The idea came even more clear and strong; ” we can buy a house in Orlando!!!” 4 bedrooms minimum, piscina, and jacuzzi, we short rent it and of course, we use it whenever we what to go over there!!! We got very excited with that idea and we did everything we needed to do to make it happen. Four months later, here we are!!! We put all our energy and love to decorate this place so families can have a wonderful experience since you first get into our place.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t being a smooth road at all!! Starting from getting a clear vision of what the ” ideal house ” would be for this business, taking into account our budget, of course. Another important thing was the market!!! In these days buying a house was complicated, not many houses on the market, and overpriced. Not to mention that we leave in Miami, and traveling to Orlando, every chance we got, to see the houses we liked was not an easy one. As I mentioned before I have three kids, so I had to leave them with my mom, or those days I traveled without my husband, he would take care of them. Then get there, fall in love with “the house” and two days later they would sale it to somebody else that gave more money in cash, of course. And this is just some of them.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Well, as I told you before we are Three in this adventure. My cousin Barby, wish is a nurse, certified in Cuba. Since she is here in USA and her title from Cuba is not valid, she is a caregiver right now. Diana is a professional musician; she is a choir director. Right now, she is working as a piano and voice teacher at Encore Academy of the arts. She is also in charge of the musical theatre group and is always in the team that prepares all the concerts and activities on stage. And I am working in an accounting office right now, helping in every way, I really do whatever is needed, organizing documents, filing, etc. I am the right hand of my boss
