Today we’d like to introduce you to Corin Emanuel Matthews.
Corin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my company, CORI, https://corinxbenj.wixsite.com/website, after I went through a difficult time in my life wanting to be my own boss, I had participated in going to Florida International University where I got my bachelor’s degree, in Interdisciplinary Studies. I then decided as I was studying multiple subjects in school, from art to business, religions, and international relations. They say your family has a big influence on you well my mother, Tessa Harris, was a business owner, and a teacher. I always saw her determination with balancing both her own business and a career she enjoys doing. Naturally, I found myself doing the same throughout my own life. After I graduated from FIU, I found myself teaching abroad in several different schools throughout Spain, including places like Madrid and Leon. Upon returning to the United States, I found myself in the last year of teaching wanted to develop my own business for coaching but not just educational, or business, or financial coaching.
As my personal circumstances and career goals changed, so did my spirituality and I was drawn through my own situation to help guide or serve as a voice for anyone who has faced adversity of any kind. I also started writing a book about the challenges as most coaches reference to their clients before working together to get a feel of who that person is, or what they faced to become the person outside of the work they created. The more I developed a sense of self, the deeper I peeled back the layers, I found other activities that could apply to my coaching, like Usui Reiki Healings. I inner stood, that the healing I wanted accessible to others was much deeper than pen and paper in many situations. I had a need to use my hands, you know the dirty work. So, I started training in Reiki, researching, connecting with Masters, and even healing others. I feel such a great amount of joy, and fun being able to help assist others into their own healing through this medium. This healing method is now leading me currently into Neuro-Linguistic Programming, sort of like a hypnotherapist, but serving as another way to dive deeper into someone’s mental blockages.
This path has been a long one because I come from doing acting, international modelling, competitive/performance dancing for years of my life, which I still hold on to and let free me and help me express who I am and want to be. I also embrace this new direction and career goals with open arms. I encourage others to listen to their impulses, to their innate knowing. They say, “A mother knows everything!”, well it’s that knowing that helps expand your possibilities in life like it did for me! “I hope to finish my book soon, as I am only 25 years old so there is a lot I don’t want to leave out! she laughs. “But I do know that I want to share this story with the world.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The obstacles I learned at a young age to embrace as an opportunity to grow. That is why we live no? The challenges I faced where plenty, starting from birth and it seemed like there was no end to them, to the point I started to accept each challenge that was bestowed upon my life. I could sit here and tell you every single hardship, but it would be a long story. I will tell you like most, who suffered in financially low-income families, the problems gave insight on new solutions for me, how to be resourceful, how to be resilient, and how to never stop moving forward because my past is NEVER a defining moment of the trueness of me. We are the one who holds the memories so we can let it make us or break us.
I am a simple living person, I find luxuries are nice and most times necessary, but as I grow older, I see how material things become more of a burden, especially when they are temporary. Things I saw as constant, more or less, was an able body, a place you call home, and the people you love. Don’t get me wrong if someone prefers the finer things in life, they are not wrong! That is how they desire to live their life. Through my circumstances in life, I can say I am grateful for everything I had, have, and will be getting! I just hope with the struggles I have faced I can help others around me.

This business opened this April 2022. It includes Packages like Deep Diver and Align, Tarot Readings, and Model Coaching.
Through each package there is a curated service, Deep Diver and Align includes a consultation, spiritual cleansing, and healing techniques with a reiki session, either in person or distant. I also give in-depth case-by-case information about how to cleanse certain problems or blockages.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me most is myself! I think throughout my life and throughout the things I have seen and done, I have come to love being me, whatever that is every day, I try to make a promise to stay happy within myself and never looking for approval from anything outside of me. Now I am not a perfect person, like most, but I am determined to remain me and love me in the bad days too! I say this because the more I love me authentically, I find it’s easier for me to give and receive love. I also can spend time with the people like my brothers and sisters and my family and support the ones I love most!
