Meet Dallas Ramos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dallas Ramos.

Hi Dallas, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born Dallas Corey Ramos in Fort Myers, FL. Never had a place to call home growing up because my family moved a lot. Luckily I had both my parents in the same house hold living together as one. It was me and my sister for most of my adolescent years growing up. Seven years a part and I’m the baby of the family, fun times. I first took note of my talents in writing during my junior year in high school, so much in fact I had my poem published before my senior year. Soon I graduated from Immokalee High School (agricultural town) which during 2015 was the second ranked “Most Poverty” driven town in Florida. Yet the county “Collier” is ranked #1 in Florida, currently. None the less, I graduated and then moved to Orlando to study Music Business for my own ambitions as a Hip Hop artist! During this time in school I was a bit reckless in my approach to the music industry as a whole and began to lose my sense of self. Some of it was immaturity, some of it was self sabotage, and a lot of it was because I didn’t truly understand who I was, but it all goes back to family secrets that I had to uncover during my time at Full Sail University. All in all I rose from the darkness with true understanding of myself and the love of my love ones, soon after I graduated from Full Sail as well. Since then I’ve been working on my album which will release some time in early 2023, and of course growing as a human being and business major. Currently have my own label and just started my own clothing brand this year. I’m now ready to live in my whole truth and let others not only relate to my story but become inspired to be more than just what people expect you to be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can only wish it was a smooth ride. Having to understand the music industry. Which is always changing, is something I talk about frequently in my project “Disrespect”, second EP. I disguise how I feel about the industry, what’s it’s done for me and what I learned from it. I’m willing to stand on what I believe in even if it kills me, and that is truly a blessing just as much as a cure. I’ve been cheated out of bad business deals along the way, befriend the wrong people who just wanted to either use me or live off me. I’ve seen how dirty the industry can really be and all I want to do is bring the purity in the art of music not just Hip Hop. A wise man once told me you can’t compare yourself to others you can only compare yourself to who you were yesterday! So grow and just find out who you want to be, and what you want to do. I struggled with alcohol during my time at Full Sail because I was letting the wrong things effect me, like other rappers doing what I thought I needed to do to quote unquote be the biggest in the game. Soon I realized why none of that matters, because that can happen when you lose sight of focus. It was a blessing in disguise much like when people describe insanity, you know. When you do the same thing over and over excepting a different result. I’m just thankful to be thankful because I’m still here and that is because GOD isn’t done with me. My purpose is still being written!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m honesty one of the best MCs of my generation. I truly believe that, my passion is music. Pacifically, Hip Hop. One thing for sure I’ve always been known for my ability to put on a performance much like a DJ or personal speaker. By the way, if you can’t tell already, I’m very well-spoken in my approach to my views and beliefs. If I had to say what I’m most proud of is honestly I haven’t and won’t QUIT! I’ve always been the outsider of my circle and upbringing because I was always different in what society and people told me I HAD to be. I wasn’t having it, til this day I carry it like so. I currently have one EP on all platforms called “Disrespect” which is honesty my To Pimp A Butterfly, what I mean by that is the tape has a lot of perspectives. One track talking about a fallout with my best friend because he focused on everything but the grind (music) or speaking on foes/enemies that were once friends turn rivals. Every track was something different, from the flow patterns to the eclectic hooks. The chaotic view of the industry, self-realization in pursuit to make a difference had me on a wave of where I am today. Plus, I have a mixtape called “Dedication 2 Wayne” which is free on my website at dcrrcd.com/d2w. This tape was just me having fun and doing more soul searching if you will. Honestly, it’s my best tape to date in the sense of just letting things flow in a much more smooth pattern or mind frame. As for what sets me apart from others is simple, I understand where I truly come from when you know where you come from. No one can tell you where your capable of going! I believe my album will explain exactly that! I have a perspective that is all my own, I’m a young Mexican American male who doesn’t speak Spanish and I get backlash from my own people because I grew up embracing Hip Hop culture more than my Latin roots. It’s a struggle that hasn’t been talked about in the way I will express it in this album. It’s going to set a major upside to the current state of Hip Hop and I’m ready to take it on full force!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have a solid team that I’ve been working on for the past five years. Rik B Productions LLC is my in-house producer, which he has created multiple tracks with me since I’ve started making music (19 years old). This man is a walking studio, he can literally make everything from scratch. I’ve seen him write a song, crave the beat, and mix/master the whole song in less than 2 days. It’s honesty pretty amazing, man’s a protege! I also have my videographer Vash Maverick, owner of Fire Starter Legacy! He creates the visuals as I put in the input. He has a lot of creative ideas and I believe it comes to life as he sees it! My mother and father are my biggest supporters and I believe without them in my life, things would be much different! So with that, I’m grateful for all of them.
