Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayana Esquivel.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My parents have been a big inspiration. They moved my sister and I to the states in 1995 from Cuba to start a new life where we could be free to live our lives and make our own choices. My dad is an artist and started his business over 15 years ago. I knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps and become my own boss and have my own business. Even though it took me a few years to realize what I was passionate about. I graduated from Valencia College in 2017 with my A.S in Business Administration specializing in small business management. I then went onto what is now Cortiva Institute and got my certifications as a facial specialist aka esthetician and makeup artist. Make up was always a passion of mine but when I studied skincare, I fell in love with it!. I did facials and makeup gigs here and there but it wasn’t until last year that I decided to apply for my LLC and make my business official and The Skin Studio Pro was born. I’m so glad I did! It feels good to have your own thing and know that you’ve worked so hard for it. Family and friends have always been supportive and I can’t wait to see what’s in store! My goal is to help educate and have people care for their skin.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy getting here. Being focused is not something that I was good at. But it took some hard times to make me realize that the only person I can count on to make this happen is myself. Focus and dedication have been key and will continue to be to keep my business growing.

At The Skin Studio Pro, we specialize in facials and makeup artistry. Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning and High frequency facials are some of the services offered.
Facials can be customized to fit the client’s needs. There are many more services coming in the future.
Makeup services range from basic/glam to gory/bruising! Whether it’s a special occasion, photoshoot or Halloween that you’re getting ready for.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Setting up the business alone was a major risk. Believing in yourself is a major factor. You’re creating this entity that you’re passionate about and are taking a risk in that you’ll be successful at all. It’s time and money that you’re investing and you want to see nothing but success for the sacrifices that are made. Quitting my day job will be another major risk but it has to be done and it’s part of growing both as a person and as a business owner.
