Today we’d like to introduce you to Dean Ray.
Hi Dean, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Me and my team are all professional photographers and artists. We have been capturing high-end images of cosplayers in Orlando and Tampa are for almost 12 years. We all have been working to create an amazing coffee table book.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Biggest struggle has been the financial, what we get every year covers the next year, trying to keep this small project working out of my home, with an amazing day job is hard, but we make it work.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Disney Fine Art Photographer. I have been working at Walt Disney World for 22 years now, and I love my job every day. I am proud to capture peoples’ happiest days and help create those memories for all time. I like to think I am a good hybrid photographer; I can talk to people and relate and still make amazing work.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I think it was in college when I was going to school at Southern Illinois University, and my world opened up to photography and it felt right. It was a hard conversation with my parents that I would be able to make a living, but now they get it. I have been always been told if you are doing something you love then it is not work.
