Hi Dominica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Dominica Williams. I’m 42 years old with four children. I was born and raised in Florida in a small town called Oviedo. Growing up as a troubled adolescent. I’ve always had love for the water, rather it was camping, fishing, crabbing, or swimming. I learned very young that I had an addiction to Seafood and begin to master cooking it. I became known for my seafood, and my crabs became a hit. Back in 2013 my Ex-husband Michael and I talked about getting a food truck, and we literally started selling fried fish dinners out the back of my chevy suburban truck in Rosemont, where my sister Shannon’s church was located. Life began to throw a lot of obstacles along with trials and tribulations, so the food truck never happened, but I never gave up. I’ve been in the restaurant field majority of my life and had the skills and knowledge of owning and operating my own business. I always thought to myself, ” why live someone else dreams getting them rich when I could live my own.” In 2020 I quit my job with FedEx and started selling Seafood dinners from my tiny apartment in Fern Park where Country Crab Shack was born. Things didn’t go as smooth as I wanted when I first started, but as time went own it begin to smooth itself out. I moved to Orlando, and my business took a turn because I felt lost in Orlando. I had got another job, and Country Crab Shack was on ice for a while. I get a call from Dylan from Uber Eats one morning offering their service, so I took the opportunity. I quit my job, and Country Crab Shack was back. I have a passion for cooking and would master any food I touch. We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. There were so many obstacles trying to destroy my vision, but I kept that love and passion I had for seafood tucked safe within me because I knew it was either give up or fight for it. And financially, I fought and won.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in Seafood and have my very own signature sauce which can be shipped worldwide. I’m very proud of myself because the battle within was hard, but I’m a fighter mentally, physically, and spiritually. You ask what set me aside from others? Honestly nothing. There a lot of me in this world battling for better futures and opportunities you just have to be able to give it your all and never let the smallest doubt cross your mind causing you to stray from your true journey.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Knowing your purpose and accomplishing what you set forth to do in life. Conquering all obstacles good and bad turning them into life achievements and wealth.
