Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Olave.
Hi Dominique, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I arrived in Orlando in 2021 without knowing what destiny had in store for me; my country of origin is Chile. I arrived here like everyone else, looking for a better quality of life and a better job; already bored with the monotony and bored of always working in the same area, I asked myself why not work and dedicate myself to something I love, which is makeup and making a living from this, that’s how I started studying and doing makeup here in Orlando.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The truth has never been easy; moving away from your loved ones and entering the unknown has never been easy, but sometimes, to get to the top, you have to work harder than you think. I am still striving, studying, and polishing myself to be the best at what I do; every day is a new learning. One of my struggles is having more reach to make this a stable job; this will materialize over time.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I dedicate myself to makeup. I specialize in beauty, brides, bridesmaids, evening makeup, and everything glamorous. I am known for following my clients’ natural features and making them stand out. I am proud to follow my dreams and have not given up, and I will not. I want to see the fruits of my work and study; I am proud to leave my comfort zone and delve into what I love to do. What differentiates me from others is my patience and temperament; I am a very patient person. I stay calm so that everything goes well but without stopping working at a good pace.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
One of the things I love about Orlando is the tranquility and, without a doubt, how green it is. I love nature, and something that bothers me is that not everyone can appreciate where we live and how important green areas are for our future and the ecosystem.
