Hi Elsie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Elsie N. Méndez, and my journey has been a blend of education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and ministry.
I hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Stetson University and spent 20 years as a teacher before serving 4 years as an assistant principal in Volusia County Public Schools. My time in education shaped my leadership skills and deepened my passion for empowering others.
Beyond education, I ventured into entrepreneurship, successfully owning multiple businesses in Volusia County, including LC Home Stagers, LC Property Investors and Elsie’s Bakery. My entrepreneurial spirit eventually led me to LegalShield, where I have built a thriving business. As a Bronze Executive Director at PPLSI under Next Level Enterprises, Inc., I have reached the top of LegalShield’s compensation chart. I am also one of the faces of LegalShield en Español, leading trainings and videos that educate and empower Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs.
My commitment to community leadership has been a driving force in my career. I had the honor of serving as President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, where I worked to foster business growth and networking within the Hispanic community. Currently, I serve as a Member Consultant for the DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce, continuing to support business development and professional connections.
As an author, I self-published my first book, Afirmate (Affirm Yourself), a reflection of my passion for personal growth and empowerment.
Alongside my professional endeavors, I serve in ministry with my husband, Pastor Carlos Méndez, as the First Lady of Iglesia Bautista Anastasis in Deltona, Florida.
Through all of my experiences, my mission remains the same—to mentor and empower bilingual, entrepreneurial-minded women to achieve financial independence and personal fulfillment. I am passionate about leadership, faith, business success, and community service, and I strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge has been me. I’ve had to overcome trauma from child abuse, marital problems, self-doubt, poor money management and failures.
