Hi Esthephannie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I came to the United States in 2010 from the Dominican Republic. I got married and worked as a waitress for 4 years until I found my passion in makeup.
While going to beauty school to study cosmetology, I provided makeup services for friends and family. One day, my best friend told me to prepare myself because I was going to work with her. She is a public figure who works on the number 1 morning radio show in Central Florida.
After that day, I worked as hard as I possibly could to prepare myself to be the best makeup artist I could be.
I started providing makeup classes to clients and makeup services at an in-home studio. I also travel to clients when they need makeup services if they require it.
Ever since my best friend told me to prepare myself, we have done multiple large-scale events including 5 consecutive years of iHeart Fiesta Latina, and I have provided makeup services to different local celebrities on television and radio. I have also provided services for weddings, photo and video shoots, makeup classes for large groups of people, and many other events.
2 years ago, I launched my own makeup line called Steph Makeup. I had always dreamed of launching my own products and so far, it has been amazing. I’ve had great reviews about my products and nothing makes me happier.
I am closing in on a decade since I decided to make this my career and I would not change anything about my journey.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been times that have not been easy. I doubted myself early on. I had doubts about whether I was doing a good job as a makeup artist and if this was the right career for me.
Through time, I learned to be more confident in my work and career. Also, feedback from clients was a big confidence boost for me as well.
Another big challenge has been juggling work with personal life. I have 2 children and a husband and when you run your own business, it can be difficult to make time for everyone. I have learned to organize my work life and personal life to the point where I feel I dedicate the right amount of time to my family while also ensuring that my business is successful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So, I am a makeup artist.
My job is to bring out and enhance the beauty in people both inside and out.
I am known for making clients feel comfortable while receiving makeup services. I am also known for my soft glam makeup look which is the most popular request with my clients.
I feel that what sets me apart from others is that I build a friendship with my clients. Some clients feel insecure, but I’ve learned that if you just talk to them and listen to their thoughts and concerns, they start to feel more confident.
I’m proud of what I have done because every client that I have provided makeup services for has thanked me with a huge smile on their face. There is no money that can buy that.

Making sure that my clients are always happy while doing what I love.
