Meet Gisela Clemens of Oviedo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gisela Clemens.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into jewelry design began with my deep love for art, color, and storytelling. I was born in Peru, a country rich in cultural artistry and natural beauty, and I’ve lived in many parts of the world since. That global perspective—along with a lifelong passion for drawing, painting, and creating—eventually led me to jewelry as my main form of expression.

I started small, designing for myself and close friends. But as people began to connect with the emotion, color, and meaning behind my pieces, my business began to grow.

Today, each design I create is one-of-a-kind, often using rare gemstones like Alexandrite, Paraiba Tourmaline, Padparadscha Sapphires, Kashmir Sapphires, Burmese Rubies and beautiful Spinels. I put a lot of effort to bring each piece to life, always keeping the person who will wear it at the heart of the process.

More than just creating beautiful pieces of jewelry, I see my work as a way to empower people. I design to celebrate individuality, and inner strength. Every jewel tells a story— personal, about job achievement or sometimes spiritual—but always crafted with the intention of making you feel great!

That’s how I got here: through creativity, hard work, resilience, love for what I do, and the support of amazing clients who trust me to turn their dream jewels into reality.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped who I am today. As a wife, mother of three wonderful kids, some rescue pets and as a business owner, balancing creativity with daily responsibilities hasn’t always been easy. You definitely need to know which are your priorities.

There were moments when I felt extremely tired, moments of doubt, busy moments learning everything from scratch—from gem sourcing to running a brand solo. But perhaps the hardest time of all was suddenly losing my husband last year and navigating through the uncertainty of the future while staying strong for my family and clients. Still, through it all, creating jewelry became my way of expressing, empowering and healing, both myself and others.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I design one-of-a-kind, high-end jewelry that tells a story. I specialize in rare and exceptional gemstones—like Alexandrite, Paraiba Tourmaline, Padparadscha Sapphires, Spinels and some others, that are crafted into pieces that reflect beauty, strength, and individuality.

Each design is deeply intentional, often inspired by nature, travel, and emotion.
What sets me apart is the positive, grounding and healing energies I put into every piece. My designs are not mass-produced, they’re hand-crafted, and tailored to reflect and align to the unique energy of the person who will wear them. I see jewelry as more than adornment: it’s actually a form of empowerment and self-expression.

What I’m most proud of is how my work makes women and men feel—confident, radiant, and seen. And the trust my clients place in me to create something that carries meaning… that’s the true reward.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe the trend for the next few years is bold, sculptural and colorful jewelry: statement cuffs, oversized beads, vibrant colored gemstones, pearls, and interesting mixes of metals. As gold prices hit record highs, jewelers are already leaning to silver, platinum or mixed-metal creations to maintain both creativity and accessibility.

Lab diamonds are here to stay. With prices dropping, people want “everyday luxury”, fine lab diamond studs, tennis bracelets or fine necklaces that they can enjoy daily without the worry of expensive jewelry.

Personalized jewelry is in high demand now. Clients want pieces that carry meaning and tell their story.

Finally, the digital experience will continue to transform the way people buy jewelry. With AR virtual try-ons, immersive online showcases and enhanced e-commerce, more clients will confidently make fine jewelry purchases online.
