Meet La Llama Del Swing

Today we’d like to introduce you to La Llama Del Swing.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our group “La Llama Del Swing” started on November 12, 2006, in the town of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Our owners and creators of our Music Group are Jean Colon and Lisandra González who have been married and had this different concept of 3 singing women and live percussion for 15 years.

After a few years, we’ve decided to look for a better chance of life outside the country and it was at that time that we moved to Florida. After a while, we were able to organize our group again although this time with different members. The group consists of 3 female singers: Lisandra, Angelis, and Glorimar along with Charlie who plays the Congas, and Jean who plays the Guira. The women distinguish themselves as charismatic and entertaining with great talent to offer in the music industry.

The boys in addition to the percussion are in charge of preparing the songs for the ladies to perform along with adding backup vocals while performing. Our performances include choreography and socializing with guests throughout our performances. Our music involves Hispanic varieties such as Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, etc.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was a difficult environment to build since at the beginning it took time for our group to form as well as tests without counting the equipment expenses. In these times the environment is a bit saturated by competition and quantities of sequence groups.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in Hispanic music. We perform songs for local Hispanics in the state of Florida and hope to bring entertainment to any of the Hispanic families in Central Florida. We are very proud of how far we’ve come as we are well known in the Hispanic community for our talent and quirky personalities on and off the microphone.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
In this environment, we believe that we always run risks, no matter how small, since we are exposed to a crowd of people every time we perform.
