Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Taylor.
Hi Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Twenty-six years ago, while working my way through college, I took a position as a Floral Specialist at a local Publix Supermarkets. Three years later, I spent 13 years designing at a floral shop in Plant City, FL. Nine years ago, on 4.1.2012, I took a leap of faith and Taylormade Floral & Event Design was born, and the rest is history. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a small business owner, like anything, has its pros and cons. My biggest challenge I face is balancing work and personal life. My family is the most important thing to me. However, I take pride in my business too. So sometimes, I find myself letting work consume me. I am getting much better at juggling being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt along with being a successful business owner.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creating floral designs for all aspects of a wedding, from the wedding party to the reception. I also love bridal showers, baby showers, pretty much anything that calls for a celebration! I am most proud to offer personalized customer service. My clients meet with me from the initial consultation to the execution of the end of the wedding or event. I personally design every bouquet with extra TLC.
What are your plans for the future?
Since Covid, any big future plans have been put on the back burner. We are currently celebrating surviving all of the shutdowns due to Covid. We are so thankful to be back to doing what we love.
