Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Bouchy.
Hi Jeff, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Like most of my career as an entrepreneur, my businesses have just come to me as kind of common sense and State 27® was no different. One of my businesses is a screen print operation and another is an importing operation, so I was looking to create a Florida brand that could utilize an already successful fully integrated business model. While looking for names in a Google search, I realized Florida was the 27th state admitted to the Union on March 3, 1845 and thus a name that represented all of Florida. So the company was born from that information.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting State 27® registered with the US Patent and Trademark office was about a two year process, so everything was on hold until it was issued to me in August of 2024. After that, it has been a sprint to debut at the January Surf Expo. Since I can utilize the experience of my other businesses for production, I have been able to expedite the launch.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Synergistic things have always happened to me in business. I have 5 businesses that I own and they have all spawned out of my first business, Destroyer Promotional Products, a promotional products company that sells items to professional sports teams. You do a good job for people and then they ask you to do other things for them, ideas spawn and then you have another business. They say luck is when opportunity meets preparedness. Well, I have been definitely prepared.
