Meet Jeff Dixon of Central Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Dixon

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a storyteller. Each week I research ancient manuscripts and examine them for meaning, content, and understanding. I then share my findings each week, using stories and illustrations to a crowd of listeners at The Church @ 434 in Winter Springs, Florida. (Some people might call that preaching, but that sounds so boring!)

I have taken that passion and intensity for leading people and developed a global network of listeners who I am striving to help as they become the best version of themselves. The love for crafting and trying to tell a good story has opened the door to nightly video podcasts, a weekly television show, and a series of Disney books. There are 6 novels, with a new one on the way – along with two Disney non-fiction books.

As a rare Central Florida native, I grew up in the shadow of Walt Disney World and found inspiration from the life of Walt Disney himself and the detail the Imagineers included in the resort. So as a Disney fan, buff, trivia collector, and theme park story collector I attempt to weave all of those things into the art of storytelling.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We live in a world where everyone says they want to save the planet, but no one likes to empty the trash. In other words, everything worth doing and achieving takes work. Smooth roads are an illusion in some ways and the best way to make progress is to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

I have always been taught and I believe that the secret to making progress is to get started. So, whether it has been in planting and starting a church, creating themed events for people to attend, working to help start a school, building buildings, or creating stories half of the battle is tackling whatever project is looming in front of you.

As a general rule I avoid the coasting and comfort zones in life. Instead, I tend to embrace the challenge zone – where you attempt things you have never done before and the creative zone – where you attempt to dream and think things you have never thought before. If you can manage to navigate in those zones, then most struggles are merely speed bumps that momentarily slow you down on the way to your destination.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a storyteller by calling. I get to tell the greatest story ever told each week in front of people and with my life as I share my faith and the story of Jesus. The Church @ 434 is the place where that happens, and we have people from all over the world that join us on campus or through our many digital platforms each and every day. In that role as storyteller, I am constantly trying to help people tell their stories better and discover a better quality of life.

People know me in a lot of roles. Pastor, teacher, author, creator, leader, and futurist. My job title is officially a Creative Architect, and I think that summarizes what I am always trying to do. Create and map out ways for people to discover a life worth living and to become the best version of themselves.

I strive to be creative and innovative. That does not always mean I am creating something new, instead it means that I am making something new and different with it after it is found. There is nothing new under the sun. So, you embrace what you discover, you make it yours, you add your creative DNA to the mix and amazing things can happen.

Good leaders build products, great leaders create culture.
Good leaders deliver results, great leaders develop people.
Good leaders are role models at work, great leaders are role models in life.
What sets me apart is that I am never satisfied with being good enough, there is always more to do.

I’m not proud, I am blessed. I have great faith, a great family, great friends, a great future, and great fun – who could ask for more?!?

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Each day is a brand-new adventure, so I get thrilled when people reach out, connect, and join in the journey of what we are doing. They can find me, read the latest, watch and listen on-line every day. They can email me and I always answer (it may take a little time – but I will answer)

I am thrilled when people connect through the books and their love for Disney and I am always up to my elbows in some project, series, or event.

The best way to support and collaborate begins with a shout-out. So shout-out!
