Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Childs.
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I have grown up visiting Disney World. After having children and becoming a stay-at-home mom, I decided I needed something to keep me occupied mentally. I discovered Disney Travel Agents and realized I could have a career that can be flexible and allow me to be available when my children need me. I have been a Disney Travel Agent for 4 years now and I absolutely love it. I love helping people plan their trips and making the process as easy for them as possible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a challenge to get people to use a travel agent vs booking on their own. Also, people are reluctant to just give their information to a person. Once I explain that the commission is built into the prices and they are supporting a small local business. Most are very receptive to support.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an Authorized Disney, Universal, and Sea World Travel Specialist. As a local and pass holder, I am able to first-hand explore the parks and able to use this knowledge to help book my clients the most seem fewer vacations.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Always take notes and names when making calls.
