Meet Jesse & Julia Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse & Julia Torres.

Hi Jesse & Julia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We are Jesse & Julia. We are two travelers doing what we enjoy the most – exploring the world. Along our travels and work our paths crossed in Xuzhou, China. It was this common adventurous attitude that brought us to the same place, and now we both share it together every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As much as traveling sounds easy and stress-free, it can be the opposite in many ways. Visa restrictions, applying and waiting for visas, government paperwork, the stress of the unknown, and most of all, attempting to get things accomplished through a translation app that isn’t the best.

While the views are breathtaking, what takes your breath away is constantly moving suitcases and backpacks constantly trying to avoid the overstay of your visa. Finding cheap flights to places unknown and searching for the best monthly rate on the next location, all starts to weigh on your “relaxed” mind.

Despite all the humorous setbacks of how difficult the situations can be, it was definitely worth the effort each time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Both of us have chosen to invest in people rather than spending a lifetime on TPS reports and sales forecasts. Most people think it is crazy to be a teacher, but in the chaos of it all, there are young minds full of potential and eager to learn of this world we have created.

The most noticeable differences both Julia and I have, are the travel stories and the countries we have visited. Our travels are truly a once-in-a-lifetime event we were lucky to have in our memory bucket.

Our inspiration is to help other travel couples know that it is possible to achieve both their goals and dreams.
