Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Winter.
Jill, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up around music and started playing drums in bands at age 14. I also picked up bass & guitar for songwriting which I subsequently played in other bands along the way. I was fortunate to open up for artists like Eddie Money, Bret Michaels, Twisted Sister and so many more. After gigging & touring, I found my way into podcasting and becoming an FM Radio Personality.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth doing in life is easy but the most difficult thing was being in bands and having to rely on other people to help make my dreams become a reality. I’m very much a collaborator and a team player but inevitably, someone else always felt differently. So I decided the band life wasn’t for me anymore and I moved onto solo recording and broadcasting along with content creation on social media. It’s also more conducive to my family life since I’m married with kids.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The thing I’m most proud of, aside from my family, is that whatever I do, people have come to trust and believe in me. Whether it’s on the radio, on social media or any other endeavor. I feel that my name is my word. That’s very important to me.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My family, from my parents to my husband Alex and our kids. They have all been huge supporters. My producer, Daniel Joshua has been by my proverbial side since I began my solo endeavors & he’s my extra set of eyes and ears on everything I do in all of my projects. Also, Dan Mathews of Klubjumpers fame gave me my start on FM radio. I’m thankful to all of them and to everyone who has followed me on my various journeys throughout the industry.
