Hi Joleen, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Carele and Joleen started CJ Counseling LLC when they noticed the prices of other private practices were increasing often and clients needing to cancel with their providers either due to cost or availability. We worked hard to open our availabilities to see our clients virtually. Earlier in our business, we would rent out business offices in surrounding cities to be able to see appropriate clients in-person near their homes.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was a smooth road, thankfully. Most struggles really occurred when we found that we still were not getting clients due to insurance rates. So, we made our sliding scales more affordable so that those without insurance can have access to mental health therapy.

CJ Counseling LLC is a private practice held by a LMHC and an LCSW. We specialize in adolescent and adult individual therapy. We pride ourselves on providing affordable and accessible mental health care, virtually.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson we’ve learned along our journey was to be patient and put in the hard work. It’s not about the money, it’s about the work of heart. We want to serve with love and compassion.
