Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan & Darnisha Parker.
Hi Jonathan & Darnisha, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I are a Black family of Creators with a passion to create, serve and help others. Our creativeness together began when we were just 16 years old in High school where we first met. From creating a full performance for the black history month show, to customizing outfits and styling hair, to singing, and dancing, we did it all and we’re so grateful to God for our many gifts and talents. When we got Married in 2016, we were busy creating and doing what we love and that’s creating so we decided to start our YouTube channel “Keeping up with the Parkers” where we share vlogs, pranks, day in the life videos and so much more because there’s always something going on with the Parkers. We believe that what we do can be used as inspiration for others and we want people to see that if we can do the things that we do, so can you.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, it’s been fun but it has been a long road. We started our YouTube channel in 2016 but didn’t start taking it serious until 2018 where we started posting consistently. About three years later and we’re Lmost at 1K Subscribers. Many people think that being a vlogger or creative in any manner is easy. It’s not. You have to make the conscious effort every day to not procrastinate, to come up with ideas and execute. It’s work and I want people to understand that when it looks different from what others are used to.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My husband and I are known as the Artistic Couple. We do many different things. I am a Hairstylist and I also own an all-natural Skincare Business named Lavishlooksbe Skincare. My Husband is a Singer and song writer and performs all over Florida with his band members. He is also a Stylist and creative director. We are most proud of being doers. What sets us apart from others is that the moment God gives us a vision, we don’t sit on it, we immediately get to work. Even if we don’t know how it’s going to work out, we trust Gods plan and we do the work.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
We don’t believe in luck but we do believe in Divine timing. Everything happens when it is supposed to. As much as I would like for many things to happen right now, I know that it’ll happen when it is set to happen and we will be ready for it. With perfect timing, we have been blessed so work with Cadillac company for their commercial campaign in 2021 for Womens month and we were also featured on a TV show.
