Meet Jordan Heath

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Heath.

Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Chef Jordan, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in 2014. My entire life has been consumed by food. Growing up, my dad was well known around town for having the best bbq. So, I took notes, and he taught me how to man the grill. After years of cooking, I decided to go to Culinary School. While in school, I worked seasonally for Disney, working events such as Disney’s Food & Wine Festival and cooking alongside chefs such as Andrew Zimmern, Mike & Bryan Voltaggio. After Culinary School, I did my Externship at Universals City Walk at Cowfish the Burger Sushi Bar. Years later, I became a traveling Chef, where I cooked for the Military, which was an honor! After a year of traveling with the Military, I moved to Atlanta to work Under Chef Scottly Innis, 2018 Hell’s Kitchen Competitor. I opened my business Chef Dior’s Culinary Experience LLC, where I provide catering and personal chef experience to my clients. Landing A Grammy Award-winning producer from Atlanta helped set my career off. After Three years in Atlanta, I felt it was time to bring my talents back home to Florida, working with my mentor, Chef Eddie at Forbes of Forbes Bistro. I am now the Executive Chef at The District Gastro Bar.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like anything in life, nothing comes easy or stays the same. I’ve had many ups and downs with cooking. So, no, it has not always been a smooth road. Having a sickly father, and being his caregiver, seized opportunities and jobs offered to me at a point in time. Owning my own business made me realize the saying “good help is hard to find” was indeed very true! Hiring staff and trusting people to be on time to do what is needed doesn’t always go as planned. This is why I live by the phrase “what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger!”

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am Chef Jordan Dior. The people call me magical. My mom always says everybody loves Jordan! Not only do the people love me, but they also love my food. My specialties are barbecue and seafood. All of my clients love my Seafood Mac & Cheese with shrimp and crab meat. Another fan favorite is my smoked BBQ Brisket. What sets me apart from others is my fun, outgoing personality. I am most proud of my skill set and how far I come in the Culinary industry.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
The best way to collaborate or work with me is through social media. You can support me by coming to The District Gastro Bar in Orlando and dining with me.
