Hi Jordan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
“We fall, we break, we fail. We rise, we heal, we overcome.” I’d love to give you a bit of background to my greatest adventure yet: badgurlgoodies.
At twenty, I had a love for crystals and chaos. At twenty-one, the fear of growing old weighed heavy in the back of my mind, my passions flowing in front of me. At twenty-six, all of the above are still true and my deep love of empowerment flourishes daily. Launched after overcoming homelessness in college, right in the middle of a global pandemic after spending years studying, formulating & learning how to incorporate crystals into skincare, Badgurlgoodies stands strong as a pillar of what it means to be unapologetically you.
Suffering from severe psoriasis and eczema, exhausted from doctors appointments and medications, tired of hiding who I am off camera and behind filters – I decided it was time take back my power and the energy that connects me to mother earth. Inspired by WOMEN, founded by a WOMAN and powered by WOMEN. Badgurlgoodies is the product of inspiration from my mom and grandmother, my love of crystals, and my love of beauty.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Success DOES NOT come without struggle. Badgurlgoodies stands tall because of the struggles along the journey. Built on a backbone of perseverance, strength and encouragement, there were days that felt like it was the end of Badgurlgoodies. One moment I didn’t know where I was going to lay my head, let alone how I would bring Badgurlgoodies to life. The next, I was suddenly tasked with creating 10,000+ products in a space that was too small, pushing the brink as a one woman show.
Moving across the country to Orlando for a new start was the perfect opportunity for Badgurlgoodies to expand. Just when I thought I could handle double, I lost the first person who showed me what it meant to be an Entrepreneur. I lost my dad to suicide on my birthday, my supporter, the man who helped me ship out my first pallet. His absence cuts deep, but I know I have to keep going. Moving across the country, dealing with loss and facing business obtsacles, I keep pushing because I have too. Badgurlgoodies isn’t just a brand, it’s my healing, my strength and the legacy of my love that shape and make every product, every step, and every challenge worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an artist, a visionary, an entrepreneur. I don’t take no for an answer. I’ve faced obstacles, homelessness, loss, countless setbacks, and I continue to rise and push time and time again because I believe in power. As the founder and owner of my own business, I have honed my skills in not only successful digital marketing campaigns, but also navigating the complexities of managing a thriving business and a team. Badgurlgoodies has equipped me with first hand experience and a profound understanding of the digital landscape and analysis of effective marketing strategies to enhance and bring my art to the entire world. I have a passion for design that is matched only by my love for beauty.
I believe in the power and magic of all my creations. Badgurlgoodies is my way of giving back the empowerment, confidence and love I’ve found along the way.
How do you think about happiness?
There’s NOTHING more rewarding than seeing the positive feedback from customers who have experienced real results. Knowing that what I’ve created has made a difference in someone’s life and helped them feel empowered or better about themselves brings me fulfillment. It’s that direct connection between my work and their confidence that fuels my passion every day to get up and bring Badgurlgoodies to the world.
What makes me happy is the satisfaction of creating effective, magical, plant based products that truly work.
