Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Rivera.
Hi Jorge, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started with nothing. After a long journey of trying different kinds of jobs/professions, I gave barbering a shot. Learning was a challenge, maybe that’s what kept me interested in barbering. By the age of 27
I had over 30 jobs and none were fulfilling to me. I was almost worried that this was going to be my life. Job after job, meaningless and with no gratification. I was miserable. My mom saw my frustration. She gave me this idea of being a barber. She said I can see you cutting hair. When she said that, I didn’t really pay attention like most kids do. After so many dead-end jobs and having no bright future in sight, I thought to myself I haven’t really ever listened to my mom when she gives me advice. Why don’t I listen to her for once and take her advice? After about a year, I said, “you know what mom I’m going to go to school to be a barber. I’m going to give it a shot.”
I’ve try so many different things and none seem to make me happy I figured why not!?
That was ten years ago and today, I haven’t done anything else but cut hair and build a multiple six figure income business. With my skills and the help of my wife, Anjanette Mojica.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening my first shop was quite a bumpy road. It was just definitely an experience. Thrilling, suspenseful, mind-blowing and an exciting venture! Although some of these experiences had some stomach turning scenarios, I wouldn’t want to change anything about my journey!! It’s been amazing!! Perfect in my opinion.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional Barber, I specialize in men’s hair grooming and products. I provide high detail-oriented haircuts and clean precise hot towels shaves. From scalp to C7, I provide the best men’s grooming experience ever. I’m known to the community for being a professional barber with high haircutting skills and time management skills. Known to be a “cool” father of five awesome children, an entrepreneur and a husband to a one of a kind queen. Known for creating the best man’s hair product known to men. Haha!
CMC Grooming Products, with the feedback of our clients, we formulated a product that works for them. I’m very proud of my wife, kids and family members, they have supported me one way or the other to make things happen.
I’m very proud of my barbers. They keep the reputation of the shop very well respected with their work ethics. My barbers are the key for growth. Attention to detail in a passionate way is what sets us apart from any other.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I learned that everyone has a different opinions of it and that there is no right or wrong opinions. They are simply different points of view from each individual. I learned that we should be understanding and more kind to each other.
