Meet Jose Lopez of MUV The Gym

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Lopez.

Hi Jose, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in New York City to dedicated and driven parents and always understood the importance of striving for a better life. I’m a personal trainer, life coach, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with an established track record. As a former athlete in the high school and collegiate levels, as well as a former boxer, I’m well versed in various fitness techniques and have implemented these skills in my training. My professional career within corporate America has created a foundation to develop successful business strategies. Fitness has enabled me to change thousands of lives. I’ve been featured by Men’s Health Magazine and participated in the Men’s Health Magazine NYC’s Elite Trainers Open. I have also been featured in Telemundo and Univision for my innovative training methods. Some of my clients consist of celebrities, athletes and public figures. For two consecutive years, I was named the official trainer for all the contestants of the Miss Dominican Republic beauty pageant. I have also trained and continue to work with some of the best professional boxers in the world; helping them to perform at optimal levels.

In 2018, I founded Build N Box; a physical training facility located in the Bronx, NY offering personal training and classes such as Boxing, Weightlifting, Zumba, Boot Camp and Kickboxing. Build N Box has helped thousands achieve their fitness goals and assisted its members to lead healthier lifestyles. As a philanthropist; I’ve opened my business doors; using my platform to create annual food and toy drives. Through my philanthropic work, I founded Operation B.N.B (Bigger N Better) a non-profit organization; offering several programs and initiatives to the community at no cost to any of the participants. Programs offered include anti-bullying, fight against child obesity and self-defense for battered women. Initiatives offered include the “B Strong Thanksgiving Food Drive”, which helped feed several single mothers and children at Mayas House; a homeless shelter located in the Bronx. Unfortunately, as a result of the covid-19 pandemic Build N Box’s doors were officially closed in 2020.

Since then, I’ve relocated to Florida and have founded MUV The Gym and boutique-style training facility providing the very best fitness experience that the Kissimmee and Orlando, Florida area will ever encounter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Success has never been a smooth road; it has always been a very challenging and forever changing one. The constant struggles of work/life balance is one that has always proven to be very difficult one to juggle.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I try not to compare myself to others within my industry. I’ve prided myself on creating my own lane and staying true to my purpose. I love changing, impacting and inspiring people to thrive for a greater version of themselves. Coming from a pretty rough upbringing, I feel it’s very important to leave a positive mark in the world.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk are taken every single second as an entrepreneur! I may be very different than others but I’m simply obsessed with success! Being able to provide my family with a life that I didn’t experience as a child is the measurement that I go by. I risk time; the most expensive thing we all possess. Like I said before, I spend endless hours away from my children and wife working towards something greater without any guarantees. If you ask me thats pretty insane…but I love every moment of it!
