Meet Jose Villafuerte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Villafuerte.

Hi Jose, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m from Guayaquil – Ecuador. I’m 28 years old but now I’m living in Orlando, Florida.

I started when I was eight years old playing guitar because of my older brother, Une day he was taking a guitar lesson and from my room I heard them having the lesson, so I told my mom that I wanted to have lessons too.

At 16, I studied jazz composition.

At 17, I started my actual band “Man de Barro” with my co-owner Kevin Klein. In my band, I compose, produce sing, and play the guitar in a band.

From that time, I have had many types of concerts like local concerts and international festivals.

At 24 years old I studied Engineering at Full Sail University.

After Full sail, I stayed in Orlando working with my artist visa.

Nowadays I’m producing artists from different parts of the world. Also, I have produced different types of music like Latin soul, Blues, Jazz, R&B, and more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Before I came to the US, I didn’t know English, so my university made me take an English course before starting my career. I had seven months of English intense classes, then they gave me a test and I had to retake the test 3 times hahaha. After the last try, I did it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love creating music from scratch.

I feel good as a music producer and I really love when my clients tell me that they are super happy with the final product.

I love to create my own sounds and I love to make new sounds so my productions can have a natural and new sound.

I have heard people like me because all my productions sound very big and groovy.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would say about my artist career with my band “Man de Barro” I feel grateful that I made that band with my coowner Kevin Klein. Now he lives in Germany and we work remotely. We see each other when we have music festivals.
