Meet Joseph And Windy Martin of Windol’s Ice Cream

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph And Windy Martin.

Hi Joseph and Windy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We are ice cream obsessed newlyweds on a mission. Windy brings the plan: think marketing, expert emailer, taste tester, and community engagement. Joseph brings creative genius, culinary expertise, and biking grit. Together, we are taking our community by storm… one ice cream sandwich at a time.

After experiencing some serious post wedding blues in October 2024, we knew that our individual skills, talents, and a serious love for ice cream were destined to make something really special. We started making homemade ice cream for family and friends, and decided that we had to roll (pun intended) this out to our surrounding community. Cue Lil Blue! Our beloved little tricycle was the perfect vessel in which we can roll in and roll out to various events and markets to share our love of sweet treats to the world.

We are honored to serve our community. You can catch us at markets, events, or even at private catered events! We are quickly becoming known for our innovative flavors that are equally delicious and different. With flavors like almond confetti, corn, and cereal milk, you truly never know what flavors we have brewing!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have been so fortunate to be a part of such a vibrant and active community here in Orland0 (and surrounding!). We did not anticipate to have so many events and markets ask for us to be included, and to know that they truly support our growth and success. Customers, businesses, events, and vendors have been integral to us and we cannot say thank you enough!
Hurdles come and go, and we pivot and stay agile. Believe it or not, we both still work full time jobs. This means our toughest hurdle is that we are constantly trying to squeeze in date nights! We are blessed to have a strong family culture of resiliency and hard work ethics, and it truly shows. We craft our ice cream and cookies from scratch. No shortcuts or scooping someone else’s product. We are committed to bringing the yummiest sweet treats alongside the service we all deserve. We like to say that when we are serving up our ice cream, whether a wedding, an event, or a market, you will always get the BEST ice cream… with a little extra scoop of magic.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a full service ice cream bike! Most people have no idea that we actually cater corporate events, weddings, and other celebrations. We are able to roll in, serve, and roll out with ease and style. We prepackage all of our goods, which means low clean up on your end and nothing but “wows” from your guests.

What truly makes us stand out is the experience you get from us. We serve you not from a window or behind a counter, but right in front of you! We show up to each event ready to serve with warmth and family vibes and a slight touch of nostalgia. We love the retro feel of rolling up on the bike and the surprise and delight on our customer’s faces when they take their first bite and realize that we aren’t just bringing the aesthetic of the cute bike… we have absolutely delicious ice cream too!

How do you define success?
We have both been in the service industry for years, and have degrees in communication and culinary. We eat, sleep, and dream customer service. Success has never been defined by any metrics for us. We define our success by having an incredible opportunity to grow our marriage, learn from each other, and share our love for the simpler things in life with our community. What we do is simple. Our success is just as concrete. When you truly love our ice cream, we know we have made it! If we can make someone happy through the power of a scrumptious treat, we are happy and have found our little pocket of success.
