Meet Kashima Edwards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kashima Edwards.

Hi Kashima, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story starts as many high schoolers with hopes of attending their favorite college (FAMU) and going off into the world with a great paying career with a corner office. Life would be great and perfectly aligned with my goals. Well at least, that was my vision. I did attend FAMU School of Business and Industry in the Fall of 2009. However, I had to cut my stay short and returned home to Orlando in the Summer of 2011. My mother was sick with cancer and given about one year to live. I was devastated. My entire world, the way I envisioned it crumbled in a blink of an eye. I shortly graduated from Seminole State College in the Spring of 2012, and my mom got to watch me cross the stage. She passed away the following Spring leaving behind myself and two younger teenage brothers at the time. I promised her that I would take care of them and that’s exactly what I did – the youngest an Army Soldier in the medical field and the other a Sheriff Deputy. I couldn’t be more proud.

In that time, although it was tough, I managed to flourish in my role at Florida Hospital as a Financial Advocate. But I knew that there was more to life, and I needed to use the skills and talents that I was given to make more of myself. I was always a creative and artistic individual. One day I came across an article about skincare and how to make some products. I decided to purchase the ingredients and began making sugar scrubs. I brought some to work one day, and my coworkers were in such awe of what I created that they wanted to purchase some. And this is where it all started.

I began selling them at work, and the word spread around from department to department, and before I knew it, I was making scrubs for holiday parties. I knew then that my little hobby could become a real business. I researched day in and day out to make products and package them. I was the creative director, the photographer, the graphic designer, you name it and it was all me. A coworker, very dear to my heart, helped me come up with the name PoshPosh Naturals and I’ve been running with it since. PoshPosh Naturals sells natural skin care products from foaming sugar scrubs to body butter. We also sell face wash for troubled skin and body oil gentle enough for your baby. PoshPosh began selling in its first store in 2020. I look forward to growing tremendously and selling in Targets and Walmarts across America. For now, you can purchase our products online at www.poshposhnaturals.com.

I juggle many hats and have recently added to my entrepreneurial catalog. I tapped into the transportation industry, owning a box truck company alongside my fiance and starting my own dispatching services company. And can I say, I wish I would’ve started this sooner! My dispatching company, Primetime Dispatch, is doing amazing and I am always looking for more truck drivers to help them grow financially. I’ve also begun consulting others by helping them start their own businesses, assisting with filing the business, creating websites, business cards etc. My office is located in downtown Orlando.

Life has not been peaches and cream for me. I’m certain everyone has their struggles. I recently lost the best dad in the world during Covid so more than ever, I know how short life can be. Today, I’m here to say. Keep pushing forward, keep dreaming, keep exploring, speak life into yourself and others, be selfless, live, and do everything your heart desires. We are only here for a short time. Make it worth your time and never forget to love yourself first.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Aside from my entrepreneurial endeavors, I am a licensed claims adjuster.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being able to create makes me so happy, whether its making products or building websites. It allows me to be free and express myself in a non-traditional way.
