Meet Kassandra Mendez of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kassandra Mendez

Hi Kassandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always felt like I was a creative person and I’ve always love are as well as getting my nails done. When I was in high school I took a cosmetology course that made me fall in love with the beauty industry. There were many years that passed by before I really got into being a nail artist. My passion for nails took off in 2021 when I was just experimenting on myself to see what I could learn. I saved up little by little so that I can buy enough supplies to have everything I would need to start really practicing. I practiced everyday because I knew that if I had the determination I would get it! Many of my family members and friends supported me through this journey by always letting me practice on them! 3 years later I have worked so hard to be where I am at with my small circle of clients who I am very thankful for. I can’t wait to see how much I can grow!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly it hasn’t been a smooth road! There have been a lot of ups in downs in this small business that I have. Learning how to manage everything by myself , marketing myself , and most importantly trying to gain and keep my clientele. It’s not easy but it’s 100% worth it to me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a nail artist. I specialize in acrylic nails, I have a passion for hand painted nail art. I am most proud of how creative I can get when my clients challenge me. What sets me apart from others is that I try my best to always make my clients feel comfortable in the space I have created for them, make sure I make them feel beautiful and confident when they leave my chair.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Being around people in the same profession as you shouldn’t feel like a competition. You should be able to sit around being who are like minded and learn from them.
