Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathryn Wright.
Hi Kathryn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born & raised in Orlando. I have 10 plus years of experience in the events & hospitality industry. My very first job was a birthday party hostess. After high school, I became a waitress at various restaurants around town and started to get into banquet serving, from there I went into event planning & management and moved from event operations to event sales. I started helping friends plan weddings along the way and started to find my true passion. Every role I previously had, has given me knowledge and experience for every step of the event planning process. Throughout my journey, I had done some coursework on social media marketing & communications, during this time, I also helped 2 of my friends jump start their small businesses. At the beginning of the year, I started thinking about where I wanted to go with my skillset and where I saw my future and the idea of owning a business came to mind. I toyed with this idea, it’s not an easy path to take, but I loved this idea – I thought about this idea a lot – it was something heavy on my heart & mind. I decided to do it. I started coming up with ideas for my own company, dreaming up business plans and brainstorming ideas until I found what I felt was right, my end goal is to own a wedding venue, but I needed to build a brand before I can start that process so I decided I would start a wedding & event planning company and grow from there, using my previous experiences and knowledge, I started building the enchanted brand. In May, registered my business and did a full launch on social media. I am so excited where this journey is going to take me and am so thankful for the support of my friends, my family, my sister, and my bestie for the endless support they have given me. I feel like all my life, every experience I have been given, the people I have met, and every lesson I have learned have built me the path to this road. Even as a little girl, I was planning fake parties and wedding amongst my friends, circling pictures in magazines and planning out future parties I wanted to throw, planning out all the decor and details. It’s so exciting to know how proud I would have made that little girl.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any road worth taking in life is smooth. We have to hit some bumps along the way to learn what we need to. I just started my path, but I know it won’t be easy, business don’t grow overnight – its a slow process. I am excited about the journey it will take me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a small business owner for a wedding and event planning company in central Florida. Using my knowledge as an Orlando native and my 10+ years of experience in the industry I bring a friendly, customized approached to event and wedding planning. I curate my services to my guests needs, and create an encouraging, positive, and supportive mindset to the process. I make sure every bride feels like a queen on her special day and that her vision is heard. My goal is to make every client feel like they are planning with a trusted friend.
How do you define success?
I consider “success” a feeling of inner happiness and fulfillment. If at the end of the day, you feel fulfillment and genuine happiness in whatever you do and whoever you are – that to me is success.
