Meet Kenisha Laws-Hurt of PurpleGlassBoutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenisha Laws-Hurt.

Hi Kenisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
PurpleGlassBoutique was created in my living room in 2013. I fell in love with fashion from dressing my beautiful daughter Alexis, throughout school. Alexis classmates would quickly took an interest in her daily styles. They wanted to know every detail. So, we decided to create and online boutique. Within a year we opened our first store in the Magic Mall and a few years later we moved to a plaza.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have had a few bumps in the road with a few store locations that were not in ideal locations and keeping up with supply and demand during the pandemic. I encourage up and coming entrepreneurs to follow their dreams and push pass any barriers standing in between them. Some days are going to be tougher than others, but the reward is worth it. Never in a million years would I have imagined being in this position. Not, only am I able to build generational wealth for my family and I. But, I have also, assisted others on building solid foundations to provide for their families. I am incredibly grateful to God for my blessings.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
PurpleGlassBoutique is a global fast fashion boutique that was established in 2013. We are a one stop shop for all your trendy fashion needs. My husband and I have traveled to several countries to meet with quality vendors to ensure our customers continue to be satisfied with our products. We pride ourselves on having excellent customer service and high-quality products. Each year we strive to add more products to our brand. We are incredibly grateful to our customers for nine successful years.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
My industry is reluctantly labeled as a high-risk business, especially since the pandemic. We have watched as a lot of large retailers have scaled down and restructured their businesses online. Fortunately for us we started online and have decided to keep one storefront. Within in the next 5 to 10 years, there will continue to be a shift for online orders and next day orders, like Amazon.
