Hi Keren-Rachel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story starts at 4 years old, that’s the age I made my first piece of jewelry. My grandfather was very sick and I did to him a colorful bracelet to make him feel “better” and happy! Unfortunately, I don’t have the opportunity to give it to him, he died the same day.
From there on I understand that jewelry could have a special meaning and make someone to feel special.
I never stop making pieces but not for sale, just for me or for my friends.
I love art and creativity so I always dream to have my own brand of handmade jewelry with a message behind every piece. Something unique, meaningful and beautiful.
I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and OCD. So, I start to make jewelry as a part of my therapy too. Friends and family always told me that I should start my own business with my pieces! So, I believe in myself and after an emotional crisis I decide to give other the opportunity to wear pieces with unique meaning and feel happy to had them. That’s when Del Mar by Kay was born, like my little baby dream!
Del Mar is the name I want to give because “mar”, beach, ocean, brings joy, peace, calm, happiness and a lot of good things when you are in front of it. So, what better name to name one of my two passions, jewelry and beach!
In Del Mar by Kay, you’re going to find always a beautiful, meaningful and unique piece, that reminds you to be grateful, happy, the blessing of having special people surrounded with love, loyalty and good support.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
First of all the economy during the pandemic, then I can’t afford for now a place to set my business, to have like a store. Also, that I never run a small business so I’m still learning of my mistakes, like set prices that I can have a profit, also to be constant in social media and that kind of stuff.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Handmade pieces of jewelry! Unique because I just made one piece and no repeat the same piece. All the pieces have a special message behind! I made laminated paper earrings, I work with beads, acrylic, resin, wood, semi-precious stones and much more.
My pieces are inspired by beach, nature, colors, trend style and everything that I could use to create!

I used to be a shy person, feeling insecure to socialize. But now, I’m everything but shy! And that’s a huge part of my business, stay connected with my community in social media. Now I’m a happy social butterfly 🦋!
