Meet Keyla Biggs of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyla Biggs

Hi Keyla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out as a part-time associate in a small salon in the mall. Then I eventually moved up to the salon manager within a year and a half. After that, I moved my talents to Aveda Institute Orlando located in Winter Park, Florida, where I studied cosmetology for a year and a half. Afterword I got my first job behind the chair as a stylist and a small luxury extensions bar located in Orlando. Where I learned how to install and specialize in extensions and color. Later I branched out to be an independent hairstylist behind the chair. I have learned so much from the people that I worked with who have paved the way for me to be where I am today they have given me the greatest gift of all which is education and experience. Now in 2025 I am a fully independent extensions master stylist with my own salon suite located in the Orlando airport area where I provide luxury services for extensions and hair color

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to success as an independent hairstylist has not been easy. It definitely has its ups and downs. It has taught me how to be more independent and strong with my boundaries. Some of the struggles I faced along the way was learning how to operate a business completely on my own with minimal experience. However, I did have some guidance from my higher-ups in previous salons. I learned a lot from my experiences working with them. I also learned a lot about the importance of presence on social media! Prior to doing hair; social media was not very important to my life. Learning how to implement that in my daily life for my career has been a bit of a struggle for me because; I am typically a very private person. I have become very confident in my speech and how I carry myself because of the lessons I have learned on the way to developing my social media presence and my business..

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a master stylist. I specialize in extensions installs from microlink installations, tape in extensions, clipping extensions, and I tip extensions. I also am a color specialist. I do prefer to work on brunettes and darker hair as well as textured hair. I can also work with blonding services. I am most proud of is my perseverance, and my dedication to my career, being a hairstylist requires a lot of dedication, patience, & passion. It is not an easy job. I’m so proud of myself. Getting to this stage in your career does require a lot and I’m very happy that I was able to make it this far. What sets me apart from others is my ability to not only make my clients receive a confidence boost they may not even had realized they needed. While also providing a healing experience for them as well.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
My fun fact about myself that not a lot of people know is that I am a twin. I have a twin sister however she does not live here. She lives in New York. She also has a love for beauty and fashion as well. She does work for a designer brand that is very popular so we share the same interest.
