Meet Kimberly Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Lewis.

Hi Kimberly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My husband, Nick, and I started Bandit’s Bookshop back in the Fall of 2020. At the time, we were located in St. Petersburg, FL. Our shop has always been online and pop-up only. We don’t have plans to open a storefront just yet, but we like to say one day.

We offer both new and used books. Our used assortment started with pulling from our own shelves. We both love to read and see the value of incorporating it into your everyday life. Our goal is to be that joy to others! We moved to Winter Park in the Fall of 2021 and have felt so welcomed by the Orlando community!

My second business is my photography business, Kimberly Suits Lewis Photography, and Creative Studio. I officially launched the business in January of 2022 but have been working with photography and design for 9+ years. Through my business, I offer portrait, product, and branding sessions.

My goal is to work with local entrepreneurs to elevate their brand experience by designing an impactful brand gallery!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The bookshop has been a smooth enough road, the hardest thing has been balancing pop-up market schedules and COVID pre-cautions. To mitigate the decrease in market participation we started offering free local delivery when locals shop online!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
With bookshop, we really strive to keep a variety of titles, voices, and genres. We want everyone to feel welcome and have a chance to find something they’ll enjoy reading!

For photography, I have a background in visual journalism and digital marketing. I’ve focused my career on content in the digital space and how to best use it for amplifying female-owned small businesses.

I incorporate all that I’ve learned along my journey into the work I do for my clients!

What are your plans for the future?
Our bookshop goals are to continue popping up around town and growing our reader community! Who knows, maybe we’ll be opening up shop too someday soon!

For photos, my goal is to capture special moments for local families and businesses! Photos are truly the best way to capture those milestone moments!
