Meet Koco Gunn of Cassellberry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Koco Gunn.

Koco Gunn

Hi Koco, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
After working for a healthcare company for 7 years and getting laid off during a reduction in force, I decided that was the push I needed to create the life and business I wanted. I am an advocate for building solid relationships and working with teams and individuals to achieve success. My dream has always been to work for myself and provide a service that allows for continued growth. I developed a multi-level business encompassing personal development, communication and confidence coaching, business management, leadership consulting, and public speaking.  I have consulted with teams to help with process improvement, personal growth, team building, project management, and leadership development. My clients have improved their personal development skills, interpersonal leadership abilities, and confidence to get the desired results. I also host and produce a women empowerment podcast called “The Unapologetic Millennial Woman” and worked with over 500 clients to improve their public speaking, communication, and leadership. I also created three coaching programs: The M.I.C. (Public Speaking), The B.O.S.S. (Confidence Building) and The P.O.D. I. U.M. (Leadership).

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No! However, I must say anything worth having takes commitment and work! I learned to manage my time as I still have a full-time career and direct a lady’s dance team. I had to make some decisions and prioritize my revenue streams. There were many things I started to say “no” to so I could create the life I wanted. It’s still something I’m working towards every single day.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
This is such a great question! I am a public speaking, confidence, and communications coach. I work with entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, and public speakers to build their confidence, improve their public speaking skills, and become better communicators. My degree is in Public Speaking, but I needed to put it to work as I was in the corporate world for so long.

My passion is truly seeing my clients shine. Confidence is usually the root of why many people fear public speaking and need help communicating effectively. I create personal coaching programs that are tailored to my client’s pain points. It allows them to see their progress because they are improving on areas they struggle with. I do offer group coaching as well. My group coaching is more general and structured. However, it builds a fantastic community for my clients to connect as some may struggle with the same challenges. My focus is always on their development. Nothing is more rewarding than working with a client and watching them grow. It’s why I do what I do. I want to see my clients succeed and remember that they are their best projects, which requires them to work on their daily growth and development.

How do you define success?
I define success as the continued investment in your growth. Mentally, physically, and professionally. In my opinion, success is something other than what is achieved. It is something you continue to strive for every day. Someone may say that success is being wealthy, but it looks different for everyone.
