Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Dirisio.
Hi Laura, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to creativity and entrepreneurship since I remember. In the beginning, starting in 1997, I started designing small projects for friends and family—just simple graphics and lettering for events and studied Graphic Design (I have my Bachelor’s degree with Brand identity and Marketing Specialization & Certifications). One day, I met my husband and he is a Print Production Specialist with +20 years of expertise.
I discovered how transformative vinyl could be for branding, décor, and personal expression. It was like a lightbulb moment: this was a straightforward way for businesses (and even everyday people) to make their spaces look polished, inviting, and truly their own.
From there, I honed our skills with INK & QUILL Vinilos and Decals—learning everything from digital design to perfecting the art of vinyl application. Word spread, and I started getting vinyl details requests from local small shops that wanted custom signage and decor but didn’t want to tackle it themselves. Helping them see their logos and ideas come to life was so rewarding that I decided to commit fully to this path.
Today, I run a small business INK & QUILL – Vinyls y decals (ENGLISH /SPANISH) dedicated to creating strategic, high-quality and ready-to-apply vinyl designs on sets or customs. We’ve grown from printing a handful of decals in my living room to shipping orders nationwide (and even overseas), focusing on personalized attention and a friendly, approachable process. Whether it’s a small business needing a brand refresh or a homeowner looking to add a special touch, my goal remains the same: to make design accessible, fun, and visually impactful—without the headache.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t a straight path. Early on, We faced the challenge of learning all the technicalities of vinyl design—everything from mastering the right software to figuring out which materials would produce the best results. I also had to invest in specialized tools, which was daunting at first, both financially and time-wise.
Beyond that, it took some trial and error to discover my target audience and messaging. At one point, I tried to do a bit of everything—shows, events, business signs—until I realized my passion (and real talent) was in helping small businesses and creatives bring their ideas to life. Letting go of certain avenues felt risky, but niching down helped me focus on quality and truly connect with clients.
Then there’s the typical small-business hurdle of doing it all yourself. I’ve had to wear the hats of designer, customer service rep, social media manager, and shipping department. When you’re building from scratch, balancing these roles is a challenge, but it also taught me how each part of the business impacts the big picture. Over time, I’ve refined my processes and found ways to streamline without losing the personalized touch that clients appreciate.
So, no—it wasn’t always smooth. But every hiccup helped us strengthen our skill set, define our brand, and cultivate deeper connections with my customers. Each struggle was basically a lesson in disguise, shaping the business into what it is today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in creating compelling, visually strategic designs that bridge branding, marketing, and user engagement. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve worked across print, digital, and large-format signage—always with a keen eye for how design impacts brand awareness and customer perception. Whether I’m concepting a billboard, building a social media campaign, or fine-tuning an SEO strategy, my goal remains the same: to drive meaningful results while staying true to each client’s unique voice and style.
I’m known for my ability to take complex ideas and translate them into clear, cohesive visuals. From developing color palettes that resonate with target audiences to implementing cross-channel marketing funnels, I love blending creativity with data-driven insights. One of the things I’m most proud of is the positive shift I’ve seen in my clients’ brand visibility—some have reported up to a 30% or even 35% increase in engagement and conversions after implementing design solutions I’ve led.
What sets me apart is my range: I’ve done large-scale printing for signage, tackled digital ads and web layouts, learned Python to enhance web development projects, and utilized AI for next-level, boundary-pushing designs. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish, which lets me connect with a broader client base and communicate effectively in multicultural markets.
At the end of the day, my specialty lies in harnessing creativity to solve problems—improving a brand’s identity, increasing leads, or simply making a space more inviting. My approach is always holistic: understand the brand, identify the audience, and craft designs that speak directly to their needs. That balance of Design and strategy is what keeps me energized and continually evolving as a designer.
Any big plans?
My husband and I are excited to keep growing together, both personally and professionally. Alongside blending my graphic design expertise with his Printing production specialization, we’re brainstorming ways to combine our creative strengths and possibly launch collaborative projects.
We’d love to explore interactive brand installations, more data-driven approaches, and even some family-focused creative ventures. It’s all about pushing boundaries and shaping how design can impact people’s lives—whether it’s turning a storefront into an immersive experience or developing online tools that redefine what “visual communication” can be. We’re looking forward to the journey ahead, learning from each step, and continuing to innovate as a team.
I’m also looking to collaborate on larger-scale projects that fuse digital and physical experiences, like interactive storefronts or immersive brand installations.
The plan is to grow, learn, and continually reshape the way design impacts people’s lives and
businesses.
