Meet LaVonda Wilder of The Eatonville Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaVonda Wilder

Hi LaVonda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Health concerns didn’t provide any option other than leaving my career as a Correctional Officer.
I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to do now that the opportunity presented itself.
I laughed about all the times I had planned to leave my field to use my Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology.
I knew I wanted to find something fun and non-restricting to do with the second phase of my life.
I started fantasizing about becoming a health coach due to months earlier focusing on living a healthier lifestyle. I really enjoyed encouraging others to change their diets and beginning to exercise moderately.

I introduced my workout initiative to Facebook and created a Facebook Group called Campaign 2 Move. I invited women from different states to join the movement and live a healthier lifestyle.
Campaign 2 Move led to C2M Nutrition the answer to what I wanted to do with the second phase of my life. after Corrections

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
People often use the quote “when you’re doing something that you enjoy it’s not work” when referencing the workload for a business owner. I must agree with the quote. However, I will also add that you must also have passion to continue the mission.
As the Founder and CEO of the Chamber There are numerous challenges and obstacles to overcome.
As a Community Builder, my focus is linking communities together through association centered educational programs.
To some the “titles” will appear to be conflicting. However, as the recipient of “acts of kindness” and acknowledgements from community members the reward for the effort is immeasurable.

We’ve been impressed with The Eatonville Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
C2M Nutrition opened April 1st, 2014. As a result of the workshops and programs offered to the community, a variety of business owners frequented C2m Nutrition.
The realization that C2M Nutrition was beginning to act in the capacity of a Chamber of Commerce for the Historic Town of Eatonville encouraged me to focus on providing opportunities for the businesses to connect with one another. through networking and educational workshops.
September 21, 2017, the first Eatonville Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in the Historic Town of Eatonville.
