Meet Ledys Sideregts of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ledys Sideregts.

Ledys, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela — a place full of music, joy, and tradition. Since I was a little girl, I’ve felt that music has always been part of my soul. I grew up surrounded by rhythm, family gatherings, and that special energy that comes when someone sings or plays an instrument.

Everything I’ve learned about music comes from my father. He was the one who taught me to love every note, to feel the rhythm, and to believe that music could be a way to express who I truly am. He was my biggest inspiration — always pushing me to keep going, even when things got difficult.

When I moved to the United States, I had to start all over again: a new country, new challenges, and a new version of myself. While I built my professional career in management, I never stopped singing, writing, and performing. Music became my refuge, my motivation, and the bridge that kept me connected to my roots — and to the memory of my father, who always believed in me.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform in different venues across Florida, sharing my voice and my percussion — especially my beloved congas — with people from all walks of life. Every show reminds me that dreams don’t have an expiration date; they evolve and grow with us.

Today, I’m proud to balance both worlds — my professional life and my artistic journey — as I continue to build my brand as Ledys Sideregts. My goal is to inspire others to follow their passion no matter the circumstances. For me, music isn’t just what I do… it’s who I am.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving to a new country meant starting from zero — learning a new culture, a new language, and finding the courage to keep my dreams alive in a completely different world.

There were moments when balancing my professional responsibilities and my passion for music felt almost impossible. I’ve worked long hours managing a team, and then gone home to rehearse late at night because I refused to let go of my dream.

But one of the hardest parts has been emotional. There have been times when I stopped believing in myself — when negative thoughts and doubts tried to silence my voice. It’s a constant inner battle, but each time I’ve chosen to rise again, to keep moving forward, and to trust that I’m exactly where I need to be.

Every struggle has taught me something valuable: resilience, patience, and self-love. Those challenges have shaped who I am today — stronger, more grateful, and more determined than ever to keep shining through my music.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and percussionist who loves blending Latin rhythms with heartfelt lyrics and a touch of soul. My music is a fusion of bolero, pop, and tropical sounds — it reflects my roots, my emotions, and my journey.

What makes my performances special is the connection I create with people. I don’t just sing; I live every song. Whether I’m performing a soft ballad or playing the congas during a lively salsa, I want the audience to feel every beat with me.

I’m most proud of staying authentic — of building my career step by step, while balancing my professional life with my dream as an artist. That balance has taught me discipline, focus, and gratitude — qualities that I carry into everything I do, both on and off the stage.

What sets me apart is my ability to merge rhythm and emotion, strength and vulnerability. Through my voice and my percussion, I tell stories that come from real life, from resilience, and from the belief that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
For me, taking risks is part of growth. Every important step in my life has required courage — from leaving my country and starting over in a new place, to sharing my art and trusting that my music will find the right audience.

One of the biggest risks I’ve taken has been believing in myself when it would have been easier to give up. Choosing to keep performing, investing in my shows, and opening my heart to the public requires a lot of vulnerability — but it’s also what gives my life purpose.

I don’t see risk as something to fear. I see it as a sign that I’m moving forward, that I’m evolving. Every time I’ve taken a leap of faith, life has rewarded me with new opportunities and lessons. Sometimes the biggest risk is simply daring to believe that your dreams are possible.
