Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Smith
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am, but my journey into running 1122Creative Design was anything but traditional. I started as a passionate creator, exploring different artistic mediums, but it wasn’t until I discovered the tumbler-making community that everything clicked. I saw a need for high-quality, unique patterned vinyl and canvas prints, and I knew I could fill that gap.
What began as a small idea quickly turned into something bigger. I launched my business and started selling directly through TikTok, connecting with crafters and makers who were looking for exclusive, high-quality designs. Over time, I built a website offering thousands of images, expanded into canvas prints for Junk Journal creators, and began developing digital products to provide even more value to my customers.
Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced challenges—branching out, increasing engagement, and refining my sales strategies—but every step has been a learning experience. Today, 1122Creative Design continues to evolve, and I’m focused on expanding into the digital market while staying true to what makes my brand special: originality, quality, and a deep connection with the creative community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—but I don’t think any entrepreneur’s journey is ever completely smooth. When I started 1122Creative Design, one of the biggest struggles was financial. Investing in the right equipment and supplies was a challenge, especially in the beginning when every dollar counted. I had to be strategic with my purchases, ensuring that I could produce high-quality products while keeping my business sustainable.
Competition has also been a major factor. The tumbler-making and crafting community is filled with talented creators and businesses, and standing out has required constant innovation. It can be tough when you’re competing with larger companies or navigating favoritism on platforms like TikTok, where the algorithm doesn’t always work in your favor. There were times when I felt frustrated, especially when my engagement didn’t reflect the effort I put into my content and live sales.
Despite these struggles, I’ve learned to adapt. I’ve focused on building genuine relationships with my customers, offering unique products they can’t find elsewhere, and expanding my business in ways that make sense—like digital products. Every challenge has pushed me to grow, and while the road hasn’t been smooth, it has definitely been worth it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
1122Creative Design is a business built on creativity, craftsmanship, and a passion for unique design. My husband, Richard, brings a background in fine arts and graphic design, while I come from a hands-on, crafty creator perspective and former business owner. Together, we blend artistic expertise with practical creativity, allowing us to design high-quality patterned vinyl, canvas prints, and digital products that truly stand out.
We specialize in providing unique, high-resolution designs tailored for the tumbler-making and Junk Journal communities. While many companies focus solely on vinyl, we saw an opportunity to introduce canvas prints, offering Junk Journal creators a new way to enhance their handmade books. We’re also expanding into digital products, including commercial licenses, wall art, and themed design bundles, to give creators even more ways to bring their ideas to life.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built. In just two years we have built our following to 4000 followers on TikTok. Our customers aren’t just buyers—they’re fellow creators who share our passion for making something beautiful. Seeing them use our designs in their work is incredibly rewarding.
What sets us apart is our originality, quality, and deep understanding of the creative process. Unlike larger, mass-market competitors, we offer exclusive designs that can’t be found elsewhere. We’re also highly engaged with our customers, taking their needs and feedback seriously. At the heart of 1122Creative Design is the belief that creativity should be accessible, inspiring, and fun—and that’s exactly what we strive to deliver.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is creativity, community, and quality. Creativity is at the core of everything I do—it’s what drives my business and keeps me inspired. I love the idea that my designs can spark someone else’s creativity, helping them bring their artistic vision to life.
Community is just as important. The crafting world is filled with incredibly talented and passionate people, and I want to support and uplift them. Whether it’s through engaging with my customers on TikTok, collaborating with other creators, or offering designs that help small businesses and hobbyists succeed, building those relationships means everything to me.
Quality is another key value. I take pride in offering unique, high-resolution designs that stand out from mass-produced options. I want my customers to feel confident that they’re getting something special—something that enhances their work rather than just being another generic design.
Ultimately, my goal is to inspire, connect, and provide value to the creative community. Seeing people use my designs in their own work, watching their businesses and hobbies grow, and knowing I played a small part in that success is what makes this journey so fulfilling.
