Hello, thank you so much for having me, I am honored to be here. My name is Lorry Hanna, I am a registered Nurse with 8 years of experience in the healthcare industry. I am a wife of 12 amazing years, and I am a mother to two beautiful children who keeps me busy. I am originally from The Bahamas; I left the Bahamas right out of high school to pursue my dream of becoming a registered nurse. I am passionate about my profession, and I enjoy seeing my patients walk out of the hospital way better than they came in. After serving as a nurse for four fulfilling years, the onset of Covid made me realize the need to channel my passion for nursing into community-focused initiatives beyond the hospital setting. I watched patients walk into the hospital dehydrated and not even knowing; after seeing an influx of patients coming in for dehydration, I knew I had to intervene; The Total Glow Beauty and Wellness was birthed by wanting to prevent hospital visits and wanting to educate the community on his this can be done. My goal was to promote preventative care and how we could prevent dehydration in our community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship isn’t always smooth sailing. It’s about navigating choppy waters, weathering storms, and charting new territories. One of the toughest challenges? Growing your clientele from ground zero. Starting with a blank slate means hustling harder, reaching out further, and sometimes feeling like you’re shouting into the void. But every rejection, every setback, is just another step towards success. Yet, perhaps one of the most frustrating hurdles is the uphill battle to make people understand the importance of preventative care. In a world where ‘fix it when it’s broken’ often reigns supreme, convincing others to invest in their health before issues arise can feel like pushing a boulder uphill. But here’s the thing: preventative care isn’t just about avoiding illness; it’s about optimizing health, enhancing quality of life, and ultimately saving time, money, and heartache down the line. He knows how to hold down the household when I travel for business. My family encourages me to keep going. My close friends who are there when I need an honest opinion and who are not afraid to give their honest opinions.
