Lourdes P. Feliciano Castro

Hi, Lourdes. I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am from Humacao, Puerto Rico. I arrived in the United States on December 18, 2016, when I just had my first daughter. By 2017, I began to explore and study my environment about what it would be like to have a business in the United States, what services I could offer, and what steps to follow. I began to spread the word on Facebook, friends, family, Instagram, and making business cards; when I saw that my first year was not bad, I started looking for the name, color, logo, and style. He helped me name it L&P Accounting Services LLC, the acronym for my parents’ names. I work from home; the advantage is that I work from anywhere; either the client comes to me or, as we mostly do, I go to the client with my work equipment: the computer, iPad, and cell phone. I started working only with clients from Florida. Still, I have already been blessed to have clients from New York, New Jersey, California, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, and Tennessee, among others, plus loyal clients from Puerto Rico. With each passing day, my love, passion, and desire to dedicate myself to expanding and continuing to help others increase. I always say the sun rises for everyone, and I am always willing to educate my clients and students; yes, students, I give tax preparation courses, and also to the already certified notary who comes to me with questions. I am always willing to help them. My motto/slogan is Professional and reliable service because, for me, my client is the most important thing; I am very jealous of them and my children. In these 6 years that I have been here, I have been more than grateful; I am happy with the people I have known and shared with not only during tax season but also as an officiant and event organizer that I have had to play that role at their request and recommendation. I am more than blessed.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Like everything in life, it has good and not-so-good times. I have learned from them, and it has helped me understand client behavior. Whoever wants to harm me has to waste their time. I take care of myself, but God is there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, next, you can tell us more about your business.

Soon, I will begin providing immigration services in my area. Something I enjoy in my business is being a sponsor in an activity where we donate items to needy people. It is a small company with such great value because it not only represents me but also my children and my family, which is why I give everything daily to keep my business functioning and in production.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you? What were you like when you were a child? In terms of personality, interests, etc.
Good question! As a child, I always played with my neighbors, skates, hide and seek, and we played in the pool. My cousins often came to the house, and we played Nintendo 64; my family was always united, and we went out to San Juan, Plaza las Americas, trips in Puerto Rico, and we traveled to different countries. My mother always said that there was an old lady inside me because, despite everything, I was always mature, and since I was little, I liked business. Before arriving in the US during my university studies, I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting at Humacao Community College. Then, I completed a Master’s Degree in Management. I had a business like ‘Payasita’ in Puerto Rico, where I brought joy and laughter with the character ”Muñequita D’ Chocolate” where many children loved her and even had me in love. My interest is to be a successful businesswoman. As for personality, wow, anyone who knows me can describe me. I am a responsible, dynamic person with a lot of love to give, respectful, but with a hidden ugly character. Now, I will talk to you lightly. My favorite hobbies are exercise, dance, and reading. My favorite food is Italian. My favorite colors are Gold, Black and Old Pink. My favorite liquors are Wine and Whiskey. Favorite music: everything related to rhythm; I like dancing but enjoy listening to Rock.
