Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucas Marino.
Lucas, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2019 I started the project “RAPTORUM”. Right before COVID hit the world, I started DJing for livestreams on the internet, gaining traction online from various platforms. I continued doing so until things seemed to pick back up for the time being. I got booked for my first gig at a club called “The Ritz” at YBOR City in Tampa. I started taking producing seriously shortly after to really work on my craft which is what I have been doing continuously since then. I have gained a bit of a following over the last year or so, adding a record label release, self-releasing music, along with playing shows in Tampa at both The Ritz and TK Lounge. The expression I give with my music is evil, eerie, dark, and heavy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been such a smooth road the whole time. Life seems to creep in on you, but I have learned personally to overcome adversity many times, and this will continue to happen. I am now prepared for that in which I have come out stronger from it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a bass music (dubstep) producer/Dj.
I’d say I’m known for an unorthodox way of creating sounds and putting them together a certain way.
I am most proud of the things in life I have had to take on and continue to still let nothing stop me from making my dream a reality.
What sets me apart from others is 100% my appearance with tattoos and the way I go about making my music, a lot of randomness all the time.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’d say is to never give up, no matter what. I’ve just learned to embrace the good with the bad, and I’d say it keeps me level-headed when I approach things that way.
