Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucas Rocha.
Hi Lucas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Lucas Rocha I’m a Brazilian tattoo artist. I got into tattooing after I got my first tattoo when I was 21, I’ve been drawing since I was a little kid so I put fun and work together and I’ve doing that every day for the last four years. I usually tell people that I don’t have to work one day in my life because I have fun doing it. That’s one thing my dad told me that was very important for the decision of becoming a tattoo artist.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road at all, I had my hardship days for sure. Sometimes I didn’t have money to eat; my dad and my mom used to help me out in the beginning but I was a little embarrassed to ask them for money I was living with some friends at the time that helped me out a lot too. can’t thank them enough. And a lot more… everyone goes to some hardship times in life it’s how we grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a tattoo artist, so I basically draw on people’s skin for a living, I don’t actually specialize in anything I do most styles of tattoos, I believe what I’m most proud of is learning how to speak English on my own, thru YouTube videos and videogames.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have a sister that one year older than my daughter, I believe that a bit surprising and unusual, hahaha.
