Today we’d like to introduce you to Ludys Torres.
Ludys, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, my name is Ludys and I am a professional photographer in Orlando, Fl. I specialize in capturing womanhood and maternity portraits.
In 2013 I purchased my first DSLR camera on qvc with a payment plan, with the intention to photograph my oldest daughter and dog. I began photographing my friends and family but quickly realized how much I loved it. During my pregnancy with my second daughter and while having my own maternity photos taken, I became curious and developed an interest. In 2016 I asked my husband to gift me a better lens for Christmas and shortly after, I did my first maternity model.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My biggest challenge at first was that I wanted to be a ‘do it all photographer.’ Then I realized how much of a toll it was on me. I wasn’t enjoying what I did and felt obligated. I had to come to terms that I can’t do it all and decided to stay genuine and authentic to myself and clients.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Photographing mothers and woman is truly my passion. It’s what I am called to do. I love being able to tell a story through my photography and leaving heirlooms for our children and their children to be able to look back on. I now photograph mothers and woman from all over, many of my clients travel from out of state to have the their photos taken by me. It truly is an honor to be able to do this for a living.
The Maternity & Womanhood Experience is a day to pamper and celebrate you and or your children. I provide a variety of high-end designer gowns to choose from. I also work alongside with an amazing and talented team of hair and make-up artists to empower and make your vision reality. They are my glam team and without them, this wouldn’t be possible. I offer both outdoor and studio portraits. I want all my clients to have a full luxurious experience and remember this day for their rest of their lives.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very creative and loved singing. My friends and family always said I was the crazy loud one out of the group. I was a city girl, I grew up in the south Bronx, I had a very hard upbringing with the bare minimum. I never in a million years imagined I would be where I’m at today. I’m so thankful for the life God has blessed me with.
