Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Daza.
Hi Luis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always been creating art in my own way. I grew up in New York, where art is everywhere. You’re essentially raised in the mecca of culture and creativity, whether it’s music, fashion, architecture, photography, or street art. I think being surrounded by that from such a young age really shaped the way I see and approach art today. From drawing, music, something about photography always stuck with me. I started young around my teens when I began to see photography as more than just a photo. I saw it more as an artform and would take photos of everything around me. From landscape, abstract scenes, you name it I dipped my hands into a little bit of everything that I can with photography and still am. I honestly started through drawing and painting. From that I took my art to photography and taking photos of all, that I could. The main spark honestly came through family and friends if I can truly be honest, at the start of social media they saw I loved taking photos and it influenced me to take that drive and pushed me forward because they saw I had an eye for it. So, I did, I purchased my first digital camera and went around and learned photography even more, from there I kept pushing and purchased a DSLR camera and a few lenses with it. I would go around practice from street photography, astro-photography, macro-photography and more. At the time I had gotten my start as well in the car scene throughout Central Florida and would go to events, meet ups and would take photos of people’s cars, bikes and whatever else. I had got my name recognized in the industry to a point of having my name featured on for a few events or pop ups. I kept myself in that industry for a few years and pushed away after some time. When Covid hit a lot of locations were on lockdown and didn’t want my craft to slow down so I started working with macro-photography and would find random objects to take detailed photos of and just have fun creating. As well would take time at night to work on astro-photography and enjoy the peace it brought. Once the ban was lifted from Covid I began to go out and work again with friends and create. I then got myself into the portrait/modeling side of photography. More than anything I took it more seriously. I wanted to bring the beauty of everyone that I took photos of and show who they are in more than just a photo. Nowadays I focus more on portraits and modeling photography bringing the true beauty of everyone that I get the opportunity to work with.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, there have been many struggles in my path through the years. No artist can say it has been easy for them and if they do it’s a lie. From self-doubt, personal vendettas I had with my own self too many more, it’s never easy. But that’s the beauty of it all those struggles bring the best out of you and your work. I’ve struggled with a lot of personal things throughout my life which I find helped me later on in life build me and my career to the artist I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In the best words possible, I am a Photographer who has taught himself various forms of photography. I’m best known for and specialize in Modeling, Portraits, and Automotive photography. All those years of practicing other forms of photography all helped build my art and creative mind to bring to everyone and show my art to the world. I am most proud of all the times I have been to other states to work and take photos for my clients all the way to traveling outside the United States and travel to take photos of everything I could. As well being featured in magazines and on covers all to me is a blessing in itself. What sets me apart? I stay true to my art I bring who I am to everyone who sees and enjoys my work.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
To everyone who reads this all I have to say is never stop creating. bring your dreams to life. That vision you have is waiting for you to let out to the world. We all go through hardships in life never let that stop you or let anyone tell you otherwise. We all have something special to show the world. So, what’s stopping you?
I as well, want to take the time to thank all those around me. From family and friends who have stood by me, you all know who you are without saying names. I appreciate each and every one of you. From the bottom of my heart…Thank you.
