Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I made the decision to be a professional makeup artist because I love to highlight the beauty of women and enhance their security, their sensuality and femininity. This story began in 2008, when I did my professional makeup studies at Caretas Colombia, and in recent years I have been updating my studies through courses and workshops. Since then I have had the opportunity to be in many events and recordings such as: Colombiamoda 2012 – 2015, music videos of renowned artists such as Nicky Jam, J Balvin, Pipe Peláez, Zacarías, Silvestre Dangond, Pipe Bueno, Los Adolescentes and others. . I have taken photos for well known brands such as Avon, Polo Club, Uber, Leonisa, Hola Magazine and Pilsen. At the same time, I have accompanied many women in their most important days such as: weddings, quinces, grades, birthdays, pregnancies, I have also complemented my work as a makeup artist with hairstyle and photography, offering packages that include all services. The people who ask the most are entrepreneurs and women. For some time now, I have supported women with cancer in their makeover, helping them go through the entire process to make them feel empowered and beautiful and make their journey easier.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
From my perspective, they have not been taken as obstacles but as opportunities for my own growth. Within my career as a makeup artist, I have sometimes met clients with different personalities that have represented a possibility to be flexible, patient, conciliatory and to evolve spiritually. I have also met great-hearted people who have taught me the value of gratitude and appreciation. In turn, the sessions on many occasions become an opportunity for people to vent and express feelings, experiences and situations, making me a warm, close and willing listening.

I am Maria Isabel Cardona and I will be your ally on this special and important day so that you look incredible. Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Each person that I have accompanied represents a gift for me because I learn from each one. As a makeup artist for personal events, I have experienced great surprise and admiration at seeing people’s reaction in the mirror, acknowledging their beauty and their false beliefs regarding their appearance. Regarding commercial events, I have had the opportunity to accompany renowned models, singers, artists, athletes, who have taught me the value of hard work, making me feel how possible things are when you work for what you love.
