Meet Mason Leary of Belle Complexions Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mason Leary

Hi Mason, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into esthetics actually started in the medical field. I originally pursued nursing because I’ve always had a passion for helping others, but over time, I realized that my true calling was in skincare. I’ve always been fascinated by the science behind skin health, and I loved the idea of making a visible difference in people’s confidence and well-being.

That realization led me to transition into esthetics in 2017, where I could blend my medical knowledge with my passion for skincare. I pursued extensive training in paramedical esthetics, completing over 900 hours of education – far beyond the standard requirements for an esthetics license. In 2020, I offically opened Belle Complexions Aesthetics, and my goal from the start has been to provide personalized, results-driven skincare treatments that go beyond just surface-level beauty. I focus on educating my clients, helping them understand their skin, and giving them the tools to achieve long-term results. But more than that, I wanted to create a safe space where my clients feel comfortable, heard and supported.

Looking back, this journey has been about more than just building a business – it’s been about building connections. I’ve had the privilege of helping so many people feel more confident in their own skin, and that’s what keeps me going. Whether it’s someone struggling with acne, looking for an anti-aging solution, or simply wanting to feel pampered, I take pride in creating an experience where they feel valued and cared for. Seeing the impact my work has on my clients’ confidence is what truly fulfills me and I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and helping more people feel their best!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. Building a business and a clientele from the ground up – on my own- came with a lot of challenges. In the beginning, there were weeks where I had no appointments at all, and I questioned if I had made the right decision. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what worked, how to market myself, and how to actually get people through the door. On top of that, there’s so much that goes into running a business that they don’t teach you in school. Managing finances, handling marketing, navigating client relationships, and just keeping everything running behind the scenes was overwhelming at times. Then, when I had my son, I had to take time away from work, which meant no income for a period of time- another hurdle I had to overcome.

Despite all of that, I kept going because I truly love what I do. Every challenge taught me something valuable, and each struggle made me more resilient. Now, looking back, I see how much I’ve grown- not just as an Esthetician but as a solo business owner.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Belle Complexions Aesthetics is all about results-driven skincare with a personal touch. I specialize in corrective facials and treatments for acne, hyperpigmentation and aging concerns- helping clients achieve real, lasting results.

What sets me apart is my background in paramedical esthetics. Completing over 900 hours of training, giving me a deeper understanding of skin conditions and advanced treatments. But beyond the science, I’ve built a reputation for honesty, education, and creating a safe space where clients feel comfortable and heard. I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatments or pushing unnecessary services. My focus is on education and transformation- helping people not just improve their skin, but also feel more confident.

At Belle Complexions, I offer customized facials, chemical peels, hydrafacials, dermaplaning, microneedling, and personalized homecare plans. This isn’t just a business for me- it’s my passion, and I’m committed to providing high quality, personalized care every step of the way!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My biggest piece of advice is to put yourself in spaces where experienced professionals are- whether that’s industry events, trade shows, online forums or even local business groups. Social media has also been a powerful tool for me, not just for marketing but for connecting with other estheticians and business owners.
When looking for a mentor, I think it’s important to find someone whose values and approach align with your own. Don’t be affraid to reach out to people you admire. Networking isn’t just about finding a mentor- it’s about building relationships with other professionals. Collaborating with others in the industry, supporting local businesses, and engaging in skincare communities have all helped me grow. Most importantly, always stay open to learning. Whether it’s from a mentor, a peer, or even a client, every connection has the potential to teach you something valuable.
